If even true, and if they didn't have HAMAS armed militia interspersed with the crowd firing at the IDF, that seems like normal battlefield confusion to me.
I think the population of Gaza is likely heavily pro HAMAS anyway. They've been raised and coerced to support HAMAS. Every day, they're told that Israel is evil and Allah has sent HAMAS to fight for Muslims and reclaim Palestine. I don't think the Israeli self defence battle that is now occurring is going to change anything.

The difference here is Israel protects it's civilians....Imagine that...decades and decades of aggression from your neighbors....enough to make Israel think..."hmmm....how about we build bomb shelters for our civilians just in case we get attacked again..." then they build bomb shelters... a few decades later...they had another thought..."maybe we should also invent another technology to intercept rockets just in case (iron dome)"...you can call Israeli's paranoid...but you know they're right....the fact here is Israel knows Hamas, Syria, Hezbolla, Iran, Yemen and Egypt aggression isn't always out of the question...meanwhile...The Palestinian civilians are poor and defenseless. Hamas is violent and stupid. Make the distinction instead of boneheadedly supporting war crimes and collective punishments against civilians.
