People in restaurants and bars were made to wear masks as well.
In addition many restaurants and bars had contact tracing in place, something stores dont do
Contact tracing worked well at the strip clubs, Mr John Smith from a street with no name

I walked past many restaurants in the past few weeks saw zero of the patrons masked up.

Shit walked past a food court yesterday before Toronto shut them down, full of old retired farts having coffee and lunch with other old farts. No masks. high risk groups dont even bother.

seeing an SP seems low risk to me. Was even safer when the agencies reopened back in July

I do understand about ER rooms and hospitals not getting overwhelmed. Cbc says that is starting to happen, I would like to know if that is true or not. I am against the lockdowns but I did overlook the hospitalization angle though.
Its false
They (hospitals) are not even cancelling elective surgeries at this point

You can walk into any local hospital and see for yourself (I have seen 3 at this point and although they get annoying with bugging you when you claim you are mask exempt so long as you repeat yourself they will walk away eventually)

Not all of the above restaurants have closed due to COVID
Which ones havent in your opinion??
I can only see one, thats Wayne Gretzky's (they were slated to close anyways because of new condo construction).

Also, The Wexford. The owners were thinking about selling it at least a year ago. Last year, they asked a friend of mine if he wanted to buy it and we don't think they were joking. They seemed ready to retire. But Covid could have definitely had an effect.

Great diner for breakfast. Too bad. :(

There are lots of bars/restaurants that didnt make that list BTW.
The underground garage is also closed because of Covid: https://www.undergroundgarage.ca/

Plus I know of at least 3 Subway restaurants in the GTA that are either permanently or temporarily closed

fundamentally this is where the disagreements happen. Whose responsibility is it?

Imo, youre wrong. Im not responsible for you. When Im sick who takes care of me? My loved ones. Did we ever blame others in the office when we got sick? Of course not.

no one is forcing you to attend dine in restaurants. You determine your own risk tolerance. As do each of us, period. Unless someone is purposely crossing the line like spitting on us, invading personal space etc.we are responsible for ourselves, period.

My parents dont see my siblings nor myself after we’ve been back on a domestic flight for 14 days as this is what my parents wish. Thats them being responsible for themselves and their own risk tolerance so we respect that.
Wrong you are responsible to everyone as far as it goes to spreading a highly contagious disease that can affect people for the rest of their lives. I stay home all the time. Except for doing grocery shopping. I have an underlying condition and can't risk doing anything else. It's the people who are not following protocol that are endangering other people. It has nothing to do with who takes care of you when you're sick. It has to do with getting people sick, and yes people do get upset when someone comes to work sick and infects the office or workspace. That's selfish and irresponsible. This disease spreads very quickly and people who don't care will eventually get someone sick that they care about that could end up killing them.

Why can't we do it this way, those who are younger and not in a risk category, let them go out and live their normal lives. And people like you who are at risk stay home quarantined, and are given a comfortable monthly guaranteed income until the pandemic is over.

How's that??

And how about the young covidiots start acting like responsible citizens putting less people at risk, the economy recovers quicker and we get back to normal quicker without the gov't having to pay out more than they already have. Don't the righties support less gov't spending?

How's that??

Well that what's happening now and it's not working. The pandemic will never be over because of people spreading the disease. This thing mutates and has many strains. A vaccine is not the answer. Why should I have to live my life in isolation because idiots can't follow simple rules so that older people or people with medical conditions can actually live somewhat of a life. I'm lucky. I have a cottage where I spent all summer where I could go and do whatever I wanted because people in Muskoka were following the rules and weren't acting stupid. Just small get togethers. 10 or less people it was great but I can't spend all my time there. Winter is brutal. All my family is here in Toronto and I'm not even seeing them now because my grandchildren are back in school. I'm 51 years old but have a medical condition. You sound very selfish just like the rest of the 'What about me" generation. You guys are all about yourselves and don't give a rats ass about anyone. I don't need a monthly income. I had a very successful business that allowed me to retire at 50. I wanted to enjoy the rest of my life doing things that I loved to do but that was taken away by the Pandemic. There are a lot of people like me 20-50% of non-elderly people have a medical condition and every single elderly person has one. That's a large segment of the population that would be quarantined. If all these people had to quarantine businesses would go out of business anyway.

People for the most part are following the rules, and yet this thing still keeps spreading.
The only other answer is a total lockdown like we had in March, but the problem with that is you're gonna destroy the whole economy if you keep locking down

I'm just curious, but if masks work so well, and you are practicing social distancing plus washing your hands regularly, how in the world could you possibly get infected?? It should be very difficult for you to catch the virus, no?

You also sound pretty selfish yourself and you lockdown cheerleaders have the same biased message almost brushing it in people’s faces that too bad they didn’t pick the right industry to be in during a pandemic.

You admit you have privilege: owning a business and being at retirement age. Not everyone has that privilege. And guess what? Many businesses have been abiding by the rules and even invested a fortune on covid protocols only to have government meddling in their right to operate yet again.

I’m one of those fortunate to have a business and the financial freedom but I know that how the society is looking nowadays will also affect all of us. We will soon have to be paying taxes for decades to come to catch up to this economic destruction they are creating. If this continues and drags on, we will be seeing huge crime rates and people entering the black market. Basically a future no one will want to raise their children in. And guess what? I’m also immunocompromised and have an underlying condition and yet I have not let this control my life.

They should not have to punish everyone because cases have been going up, cause that’s inevitable. But even the government don’t abide by the very same rules they create. Majority of people are doing exactly what they’re supposed to be doing. But lack of transparency of the government and the inevitable nature of how viruses work means this will go on. And it’s common sense we cannot live in lockdown for years.

All you lockdown cheerleaders have the same redundant message that is contradictory to say the least.

None of you will admit this is a government overreach because it doesn’t affect you. You don’t understand what it would be like to have to be losing everything because the government says it’s in your best interests while they’re sitting in their cushy jobs making triple what the average citizens make.

I think anyone with a documented illness should get 3k a month in cerb. The rest of us go on with our daily lives. If you choose to Joe Biden in your basement in fear, that's up to you.

Also have precautions for seniors homes. 48,000 US college students caught covy, 2 required hospitalization, none died. Have a stipulation if the hospitals are overwhelmed then complete lockdowns and none of us can complain. Obesity is not a documented health issue.
