Congratulations to City. Haaland is above everybody but he is not the reason for their triumph because they won previously without him. Fact is, there is not much difference between Man City and Man Utd individual players. The Guardiola system is what puts City above in the EPL and beyond. So I tip my hat off to him. Incredible coach.

Similar story being written by Eddie Howe at Newcastle. The Magpies dont have a single headline player. Not one. And are yet to spend Saudi money to any significant degree. Yet, they are comfortably 3rd in the EPL. In some respects, Newcastle is the most impressive team in the EPL this season. Tip my hat off to him as well.

Good observations. Money is not enough. Hat's off to the coaches.
I couldn't recognize a single NC player aside from Trippier and Almiron,
what they do have is the stingiest no-name defense.

Pound for pound, you could argue MU are even better than MC but they're no match for MC's "Total Football".

Man Utd have also qualified for Champions League. So Ten Haag has satisfied minimum requirement. But to challenge City, he has to go "Total Football" like he did at Ajax. Counter attacking wont do it. No!

And Liverpool back in the Europa league. I hope it doesn’t affect our ability to attract new players in the summer. We made a good run of it at the end but even Klopp admitted that he left it too late to change his tactics.

Pep is always innovating and tweaking his tactics and personnel preemptively to stay ahead of the curve, but when Klopp finds some thing that works he sticks with it through thick and thin, that goes with his players as well. He even wanted Milner to stay on for another year but the board overruled him.

Brilliant to see Everton survive on the final day with a 1-0 win over Bournemouth. I'm not an Everton fan per se, but Sean Dyche, Burnley's ex boss was brought in to steady the ship a little and see them safe, he did the job he was hired to do. Everton also have 3 ex Burnley players in their line up, Tarkowski, McNeil and Keane. Everton to me are 'wanna be' big club with awful top management, they've continuously brought in big name managers with zero success. Hiring Ancelotti was a terrible error, it was obvious he'd jump ship when a 'real' job came along.

At the other end of the table I'm glad to see Newcastle on the road to success despite dodgy ownership. The fans have been craving for success for decades, always well supported, footy crazy fans, decent stadium. They also have a Burnley connection, coach Eddie Howe is an ex Burnley boss, they also have 2 ex Burnley players in Keiron Trippier and Nick Pope.

All the relegation threatened teams that retained their managers did in the end manage to stay up including the newly promoted sides like Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth.
The other team that managed to stay up and comfortably so was West Ham. Their supporters were calling for Moyes dismissal, but the Board persisted with him.
Leeds appointed the relegation saviour called Big Sam Allardyce. He had a history of saving such clubs from the drop in the past. But not this time. If Leicester retained Brandon Rogers, they probably would have stayed up. Dean Smith was not geared up for that team's style of play.

By the same token, Crystal Palace brought in Roy Hodgson to replace Patrick Vieira and he took them all the way to #11

But Crystal Palace were still near the mid table when they fired Vieira, although the results were not going their way then.
However, remember that Roy was the previous manager of Crystal Palace, and Palace were always around the same position that they are in presently.
Vieira was supposed to take them to new heights such as place in the European competitions.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have just signed Mac Allister for the absolute bargain price of 35 million. Everyone was saying 60-70 million for weeks but he has a release clause so the reds will only have to pay half of that.

His overall defensive ability, counter pressing, and possession play means he could be the ideal player for Klopp to rebuild his midfield around.

West Ham won the European Conference Cup defeating Fiorentina in an interesting second half. But the Hammers Fans are excited about what Declan Rice stated in his post match interview. He expressed an interest in his adoration of the Hammers fans, and also stated that all those transfer news was just a lot of speculation, as he has not agreed to any transfer terms. He insisted that he still has two years of his contract at West Ham.

Of course, all that could change in the transfer window. But it was great that the Hammers have won a trophy after decades. Hopefully, Guardiola's Man City makes it a double for the English Premier League teams.(y)

I just can’t bring myself around to support man city, that’s why I’ll be supporting Inter this weekend. If we can’t still mock man city fans for never winning a UCL despite spending so much then what else is left?

I loved it when Liverpool beat them in the past but if there's one coach that deserves a UCL title this year it's Pep.
