Asking a general question here. Anyone interested by an MLS thread?

I am a huge MLS soccer fan. I know I know it's not highest quality soccer like the EPL, Ligue 1 or La Liga. But it's very fast paced and interesting soccer game to watch.

I think the fact that there is no relegation and that almost all team has a chance to make the playoff makes the MLS game always playing to score instead of not losing...

Let me know...

p.s. Of course I am a fan of Montreal but also big fan of Toronto. Ever since they got Giovinco who was my idol ;)
Used to love watching TFC when they had Giovinco and Altidore then lost interest after Giovinco left
but still check the MLS standings from time to time.

One thing i never liked about MLS is the regular season/play-off format,
the best regular season teams could stumble and not make it to the final, and shitty teams can reach the play-offs
unlike other leagues where bad/inconsistent teams will never win the title.

A lot of people have been eager to tarnish Nunez as a flop, calling him the Uruguayan Andy Carrol. He was never going to match Haalands numbers but these stats put things into perspective.

Darwin. 64mil. 14 goals. 4 assists. 1900mins.
Antony. 82mil. 6 goals. 1 assist. 1900mins.
Richarlison. 60mil. 2 goals. 3 assists. 1100mins.
Sancho. 75mil. 10 goals. 4 assist. 3600mins.
Grealish. 100mil. 9 goals. 10 assists. 5000mins.

Good first season for a 23 year old who barely speaks a word of English. Liverpool’s new Agent of Chaos.

Klopp must have been so busy organizing the managers and teams to boycott match of the day interviews in solidarity with Gary, he forgot to organize his own team to face the bottom team in the league. After last weeks 7th heaven, Liverpool lose 1-0 to Bournemouth and miss a huge chance to put pressure on Spurs for 4th place, who can go 6 points clear if they win later. Despite Salahs pen miss, Liverpool never really looked like scoring.

A 7-0 win against a powerhouse is spectacular, but without some consistent results in March/April it won't matter in the end,
but that's another reason to love the epl, bottom teams can beat top teams any day.

The worst part is we beat Bournemouth 9-0 back in August. Maybe they’ll give us another shock result next and beat Madrid 4-0.

I said that 7-0 victory was a fluke. United turned around and handled Real Betis 4-1.
And Liverpool lays an egg against Bournemouth 0-1 with Salah missing a penalty.
The same Salah who celebrated like a chicken with its head cut off against United

A football player who breaks Robby Fowler's record has the right to celebrate like a chicken lol
but he did get lucky on both goals tbh, especially the 2nd one, right place right time tap celebrate a new record
but that's football.

Agree that win won't be repeated for a very long time, would love to see their next game at Old Trafford :D
and agreed they're not beating RM 4-0 either. Better be a consistent 1-0 winner than win big here and there
then lose the next game to the bottom team.

This season 7-0, last season Liverpool beat united 5-0 and 4-0. I saw Scholes and Neville immediately kept repeating that it was a “freak” result on 2 different stations after the match. Almost like they were texting each other during the match and agreed to try and push this narrative. Michael Owen didn’t really push back against when Scholes said it 7 or 8 times, but Souness got into a big argument with Neville on the other station.

Casemiro for Real Madrid Over 300 games - 2 red cards
Casemiro for Manchester United 30 games - 2 red cards
Both red cards he recieved in la Liga were from picking up 2 yellows, while hes been given 2 straight reds for united.

Makes you wonder if La Liga refs were extra lenient on him or if prem refs are extra harsh.

Firmino looks most likely to move to Serie A this summer, with Inter Milan currently in pole position to sign the Liverpool forward.

Both hands around the throat of opponent got him the first red card. Sliding high boot that could have broken ankle got him second red card.
Cant understand why players think sliding tackles are good idea. Insane.
Now due to miss 4 matches

It was a reckless tackle because he left his feet, had his studs up over the ball and followed through. The next 4 fixtures look winnable for united even without Casemiro though.

Pretty good performance from Liverpool so far, it’s too bad Alisson and Joe Gomez put in a disaster class in the first leg. Van Dijk and Konate are the best CB pairing that Liverpool have.

Its his decision to leave, and I don’t think the club want to hold him against his will after being such a great servant to us for 8 years.

I’d also be fine if we were also able to get 40 mil for Jota this summer. It would still leave us with Salah, Gakpo, Nunez, and Diaz going forward and knowing FSG, they’ll sell to raise funds before they buy. Too bad we don’t have another Coutinho to sell to Barca for 142 mil.

They lost against Real today. They did so good against United last week.

Vincent Kompany, ex Man City star, is coach of Championship club Burnley. He has them leading the table by a whopping 13 points with just 9 games left.
Pep Guardiola calls him his natural replacement at City.
A certain Terbite Burnley supporter will be ecstatic to see Burnley bouncing right back after the drop last season.

And the ever boring ex Man Utd midfielder Michael Carrick has Middleborough in the hunt for a playoff spot. Carrick could put you to sleep - on the pitch lol

Patrick Vieira fired by Crystal Palace. 4 consecutive defeats, no win in 2023, 3 points above relegation zone even though 12th on the table, will do that to a manager.

He took Palace to 12th last year with an exciting attacking display. He will get another chance somewhere in the near future.

Yes sir, these are exciting times to be a 'Clarets' supporter. Gone are the high wage earners from the Dyche era, those that remain have found a new lease on life under Kompany. It's really amazing how dominant we are Championship level. Kompany brought in many young, hungry players mainly from his home country, players are lining up at the door to play for Vinny. Take nothing away from Dyche though, the man worked miracles with a shoestring budget over his 10 years tenure. Dyche is starting to make his mark at Everton, my guess is they'll survive with ease. Locals appear tp be split about how well, or badly, we'll do in PL next season. My guess is we'll struggle mightily, the gulf between the two divisions is growing year on year. Tomorrow we play Man City in FA Cup quarter finals, alas I feel a hammering is on the cards.

Onward and upward you Clarets. (y)
