Apparently the jury did not find the corruption to be obvious.

Do you have any actual evidence of prosecutorial incompetence? You know…like something the prosecutor actually did or failed to do?

Or are you just making up stories (again)?
Do you think he was guilty?

Clearly he is just making up bullshit. He has nothing else. He has zero actual info to back up his claims.

The butler is serving up BS on a silver tray.

You will never admit. What was Franken convicted of. The Dems wanted him out due to simply "an appearance" of impropriety that cost him his job. Getting sued, taken to court and having a judgement against trump is not enough for the
Man you're in a lather tonight,lol...Franken had something like 10 accusers against him....Dems gotta virtue signal ya know. That's their thing. As I remember some of them regretted throwing him under the bus later.

Personally I though SNL was at his best when he was there...So there's that. What's a little ass grab to a few staffers anyways right?

Here is an article about how recent(at that time) SCOTUS rulings hobbled corruption investigations and directly affected his trial in 2017.

So yes, the system protected him(and protects others)

Dude, are you really that obtuse? Its basic. They used him, when he had power, and discarded him at the first whiff.
Dude are you that immoral?

They discarded him because of impropriety, something the repugs never do.

Same as they did with Franken. Same as they'll do with Menendez.

Same as the repugs don't do with trump or with George Santos or MTG or Boebert or anybody else. They are power whores and you support them no matter what.

No impropriety is too big. No excuse too lame.

Both parties. And they protected them and used taxpayer dollars to do it.

More facts.
The US DOJ has a tremendous conviction rate. Like 98%, if you count pleas. 10 years ago like 93%. This means rarely do they go forward unless they got game, set, match. That's not an incompetent DOJ.

It only seems so to those like jim jordan trying to protect trump. Jim Jordan was at the December 18 meeting where the insurrection was planned. Hence he's involved. Hence he's fighting like hell to discredit and obstruct that investigation. It's not that hard to figure out. However, if you get your news only from fox you would not know that. I will say I was watching msnbc in an airport lounge and it was 20 straight minutes of coverage of the Menendez case, and no one was calling it corrupt or a witch hunt. Similarly in the next airport CNN was covering it the same way.

Nice deflection...The point is he wasn't convicted of rape as you said.

I doubt he even knows her beyond a photograph. I remember that episode of Law & Order though. Obviously so did Carroll.
He was found by a court after hear evidence and any defense he chose to mount to be a sexual abuser. You are correct that he was not found to have raped her. Sexualbabuser is perhaps not quite as bad but hardly the stuff of people who want to be the president of all Americans including women.

''The verdict was split: Jurors rejected Carroll’s claim that she was raped, finding Trump responsible for a lesser degree of sexual abuse. The judgment adds to Trump’s legal woes and offers vindication to Carroll, whose allegations had been mocked and dismissed by Trump for years''
Rump took Carroll to court for her saying he raped her.
The judge ruled E Carroll is correct to say that trump raped her.
trump is a rapist.

What evidence do you have to support this claim of prosecutorial ineptitude? What specific acts of DOJ incompetence are you referring to?

What specifically is it about the corruption laws that sucks? What evidence do you have that hung juries are easy to get in these cases?

Or are you just making things up (again)?
I doubt he has any evidence of prosecutorial ineptitude, but that could well be the case.

The corruption laws being fucked up though, that's real.
In fact, the Supreme Court ruling that made it basically impossible to convict for bribery and corruption without it being a sack of money with a dollar sign on it and a written statements saying "pass this bill for me" came out right around the same time as the Menendez mistrial and most people feel that's why the DOJ didn't try that first case again - a whole section of their case was explicitly taken away from them.

(That Clarence Thomas ruled that the kind of kickbacks Clarence Thomas has been getting can't be charged as bribery is surely a coincidence.)

The fact that the DOJ has brought another case against him despite the new rulings seems to show Menendez (and his wife) have been even more brazen and stupid about their corruption.

The combination of it being round 2, worse behavior and better evidence, a very different political environment in NJ, a different one nationally, and just new people in office are all combining to have the Dems be much more united in trying to pressure him out on their own instead of being far more muted (and some even supportive) as they were in 2017.

I still find it disappointing that more Democrats, including Joe Biden, have not come forward and asked that Menendez step down. I would have expected it to be unanimous.

These things tend to be a slow build up over time.
And Biden - since it is a sitting Senator - is almost certainly not going to call on him to resign since it would be a breach of the separation of powers.
