Vlady went Godzilla for his 33rd dinger, hitting the roof of the theater beyond The Green Monster.

Bo Bichette wrote an article for the Players Tribune. In part of it he talked about having to play in the outdated Skydome:

And let me get this out of the way up front: I know some people around the league might not like our park. They might think it doesn’t “hold up” compared to other parks.

Nah.

The Rogers Centre? It’s sick. For real.

Is it perfect? I don’t know — who cares.

You either get it or you don’t.

For me, it’s got this feeling when I’m there that’s just … it’s hard to explain. It’s just special. You’ve got the CN Tower up above you … the hotel out in centerfield. It just feels BIG. It’s big-time. I walk out on the field there, and it’s like, Yeah … it’s about to go down.

I know that this "red meat" for BBL. LOL

What else was he going to say???

"The SkyDome??? It's a piece of shit, totally outdated and next to Tampa and Oakland the worst stadium in the league. I can't stand playing there",

Springer has two homers already today. Imagine what his numbers would look like if could stay healthy and play a full season.

he is finally hitting like he can

first 100 at bats was spring training

he is a hitting machine

now we got a crazy hitting line up

as far as trade goes if they do not make noise in playoffs ,if they make them, then you will wish they kept the two top prosects they traded

i would have sold semien and ray as they are free agents

screw the what are we telling are fans nonsense

we would be telling them we are making a bold move for the next ten years

before you disagree think about

two top prospcts gone

semien and ray are both stars so the cost for a star rental is one top prospct

so we have just lost 4 top prospects and some lower rated prospects for this one run that may not even get us into playoffs

manoah looks back

now we got a great starting staff compared to the beginning of the year when we had one solid starrter

and best hitting in the game

relief is now decent with weaK defence on left side

but could be too late

No you shouldn't. Martin is 2 years away from being ready and his contract was 7 million. So you shed some payroll and a guy that's going to take a bit to long to be part of the "compete window' especially with a log jam already in the infield. Jordan Groshans is higher up in the pecking order. Not to mention, right now they're prospects, until they prove otherwise when you got proven talent on your return, they are just that, prospects.

Now that Jays have shored up their starting pitching and BP with recent trades like they did in 2015 with Price and Tulo, can they win the AL East?

Let's compare the standings between 2015 and now:

One difference is they only had to catch 1 team in '15 and this year they have to get by 3 teams.

Having said that, it is absolutely doable, but I'm sure that a professional oddsmaker/actuary would give longer odds against for this year.

you are looking at this wrong
because we are deep in infield prospects you are still extremely careful when selling them

we are now down four top prospects, and it is reasonable to say two of them would have made it, for two months of baseball and we may not make trhe playoffs

and we are not allowed to fill the skydome up

Not at all. The Jays need proven talent now to compliment the pieces they already have. In order to get something you gotta give up something. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the deal, especially since we don't know what Martin and Richards will end up being.

If you want to know why the Yankees were able to make trades foir big name players all of these years it's because they had a deep farm system. I always wondered why Shatkins stocked up on infielder prospects these last few years and now I see why. I'm sure they did their due diligence on all of their prospects and felt that they'd still be okay making this deal. If it wasn't Martin then it would've been Bichette. If Berrios didn't have another year of control the jays wouldn't given up so much. AA gave up the farm for the Blue Jays run in 2015 and none of the prospects he gave up bit the Jays in the ass in the end.

The Yankees have spent lavishly without results, they haven't made it to the WS in the 2010's. They've now brought in Joey Gallo - Giancarlo Stanton can't stay healthy.

I like what the Jays have done, you can't waste the emerging young talent. I was against signing Springer at first but he appears to be a catalyst. Go for all the marbles now, no guarantee you'll get them later.

This, plus most of the positional spots for the Jays will be clogged up at the major league level for a while now. The same reason it made Rowdy Tellez expendable. Going forward you need like 1 infielder and 1 outfielder to be ready in the year or so just to give you some depth. Not to mention they will still be looking to spend more money over the next two years creating even for depth at the major league level. Time to stock pile on pitching.

i repeat, they gave up two more top prospects they could of had not selling FA ray and semien

so that is 4 top prospects plus some secondary prospects for this one run

I just feel they went for it to soon

they could of waited till next year when they can fill up the dome

Simeon Woods Richardson is having a terrible season in AA ball so far.
I like the trade because Berríos is only 27 and wont become a FA until 2023

No chance Ray and Semien get you a top tier start like Barrios. A team that's a seller isn't going to trade for two guys who are both two month rent-a-players. No chance in hell. Even buyers at the trade deadline aren't giving up that much for two month renta-a-players anymore. It's just not worth it.
