Obviously the additions over the past month or so have greatly improved the team and their chances... no doubt they have a lot of talent.. and they are much more consistent than they have been as a .500 team...
They still have to win at least 34 of their remaining 56 games... that is a .607 clip... with their talent it is quite doable... and if they make it, they have what it takes to go all the way to the WS...
Fan Graphs project their chance of making the playoffs at 40.7%... but that is on paper... when I see them play... especially the energy that Springer brings... I think their chances are much better than that...
Again, kudos to Shatkins... they saw where the team's weaknesses were and did an excellent job of plugging the holes... (injuries play a role, but) only 14 of the opening day roster will take the field tonight against the Sox...
Beyond doubt, the next 8 weeks will be fun... will Toronto's baseball fever reignite?
