The slump and downfall which I expected to come finally has... I knew that the Jays were eventually gonna go back to third place. After a couple years I've learned not to get excited about early success, if they're in first after the all-star break than...

Should be an easy one for Tallet today. There is a major black hole from the 6 spot thru 9 and if he keeps the ball down on Lowell, he will add to his league leading GIDP, if anyone is on first. Pedroia has cooled off. Ellsbury is due to cool down after a 22 game hitting streak. Varitek gets lucky once in a while. Baldelli is a strikeout machine, two K's coming today. Green/Lugo, both are poison - pick one. Ortiz, well, no explanation needed. How the hell did this team get to first place?
Pretty much nailed that one, other than Rocco. These guys have become so dam predictable, it isn't funny. Hmmm, and for my next trick, here are tonight's winning lotto numbers .........

Here is me going out on a limb. Lester fails again and Jays sweep tomorrow.

These games are demonstrating how they perform differently at home, compared to the road. That 9 run losing streak was all on the road. Boston could prove to be similarly weak on the road.

Already been proven. At one point last season they were about 12 games under .500 on the road. What are they now, 11-16 with 4 games left on this trip 9 (Detroit next stop). This is a completely different team home v. away. Dominating at home, very mediocre on the road. A good team should be at least .500 on the road, Sox are no where near that.

While watching the Red Sox at bat, I kept asking myself "why can't the Jays have a cleanup hitter like Jason Bay". A cleanup hitter needs only two tools, one is the ability to hit and the other is to hit with power. The Sox have, the Jays don't.

In his second complete game of the season, Halladay recorded a career-high 14 strikeouts -- the most by a Blue Jays pitcher since Roger Clemens fanned 15 Orioles on Sept. 21, 1998. That year, Clemens won his second consecutive American League Cy Young Award.

another thing worth mentioning is the fact that Rios hit his second Hr in as many days

I missed the game due to other commitments but caught the highlights on the late night news. I didn't see our CF and cleanup hitter in the highlights. Was he in the game last night?

Rios has improved his hitting performance quite a lot over the last couple of weeks, even during that 9 game losing streak. It's Wells now who is the main under-achiever.

Damn, that 4 run inning put a wet blanket on his game. Still it was awesome.

Halladay is a free agent after the 2010 season.

Re. Travis Snyder: It's a small sample size; but, he's continuing to struggle at the plate in Vegas.
31 at bats just 1 extra base hit and 10 strike outs. He might end up being down there all year.
Pacific Coast League is supposed to be a hitters league so hope he finds the groove that got him over 30 minor league home runs last year.

There are a few players letting the team right now. Wells is one of the main culprits. There are others.

Wolfe has been sent down.

Carlson is still around and shouldn't be. In last night's game he allowed three runs, one earned on three hits in one inning of relief. He has allowed 13 earned runs in his last 11 2/3 innings pitched which makes him a real liability.

If they dont get into the playoffs this year he will have no reason to stick around IMHO. Why play for a team that can't contend every year it has to get annoying year in and year out when he puts up the numbers he does.
Agreed.
Mr.Halladay waste too much time in Toronto .
Toronto Blue Jays should let him go before the trade deadline !
