Why did Cito Gaston keep using this freaking Jesse Carlson ?
And Carlson like to lose the game !
I was very sure somebody won a lot of the money in the Blue Jays team during their long losing streak !
The sad thing is that Carlson didn't lose the game. That was the honour of Wolfe who was nearly as bad.

Bullpen is in complete meltdown. Some changes are needed fast. They must have guys better than some of them now playing as Jays.

That was really ugly to watch. Painful, embarrassing, disturbing, uncomfortable etc.. felt sorry when Halladay couldn't win, then Frasor could've gone 5-0. Stil not over lots of games left but Yikes I am going out to get drunk.

The humiliation and sorrow are now both very great.

Well, at least the hitting came back today. Problem is that the wheels have fallen off the bullpen in a very sad and shameful way.

I forgot to-day's game was in the afternoon. Why in blazes would a weekday game be in the afternoon. Stupid! Judging by the above posts, I assume the Jays lost AGAIN and WELLS and RIOS were their usual productive selves.:(

They were a bit better. Rios 2-5 rbi, Wells 2-6 rbi but he left 3 men on base as usual. Hill hit first home run for Blue Jays in 8 games.

I guess everybody want the Jays win the game today, except Cito Gaston,Jesse Carlson,Brian Wolfe and John Gibbons, especially John Gibbons !
1 year ago,John Gibbons got fired by JP Ricciardi, after they are riding the winds of a 5 games losing streak in which they've looked more like a AAA ballclub than the last remaining Canadian team in the majors.
Who's next ?
Cito Gaston and his Co. ?
Cito Gaston is stubborn old man,he think that he is the god,he could walking on the water !
I didn't why Cito keep using freaking Jesse Carlson ?
It was because Mr.Carlson polish Cito'shoes and comb Cito's beard everyday ?
Mr.Carlson already lost three games and 2 blown save !
Where is Jeremy Accardo ?
Why call up Brian Wolfe, not Accardo ?
They should trade Cito Gaston to Chicago Cubs for Lou Piniella as soon as possible !!!!!

RF and CF are suppose to be power positions. There are single guys who have more HR's than the TERRIBLE TWINS combined.

What happened to the love-in of a couple of weeks ago?
What happens if Cito goes to the Cubs and they start winning and the Jays keep losing? I personally believe that professional team managers get too much flak for the team's record over the short term. Cito is what he is. It's that the players that he has just aren't that good. We could dig up Connie Mack, Billy Martin and Sparky Anderson and they probably couldn't will this team to be much better than the are...average.

The problem is poor hitting. This is putting pressure on our pitchers to try to be better than perfect because allowing even one run means losing the game. We are wasting Brian Tallet's fine pitching performances.

That's true as a general statement. It doesn't explain Carlson's terrible contribution to last night's game when they were 8 - 3 up. This guy has lost form over the last few weeks (not just last night) and needs to be replaced urgently. Maybe they also need to replace Camp and Ryan, but getting rid of Carlson would be a good first step.

Red Sox pitchers seriously have to figure out a way to avoid nuclear innings, they are all prone to them. Wakefield wasn't good last night, yet without that 5 run meltdown, Sox win the game. Janssen was definitely beatable last night, 13 Sox reached base. He helped himself with 2 double plays to a team that must lead the league in GIDP, but the chances to score were there in several innings. Something really needs to be done with Ortiz, moving him into the 6-hole is not working. He is finished, however, Sox do not have a lot of other options. There have been many rumours flying around about Victor Martinez, Adrian Gonzalez, Nick Johnson. Brad Penny will be dealt soon after Smoltz arrives in mid June. There is a lot of interest in him from several teams and now that Bret Myers is gone for the season, Philly needs a starting pitcher.

I will say it again, any Jays fan who wants to whine and complain about Rios or Wells, I will give you two words - David Ortiz. Sox will be hard pressed to win one game in this series. Just what I said in another post, after losing 9 on the road, then going home, something has to give and Boston is going in at a bad time. With Lester in the finale on Sunday, I am not liking their chances. Penny is due to get clobbered and today will be the day. Sox will continue their road show of making average pitchers look like Cy Young winners.

Very nice outing by Sox Daniel Bard out of the pen. 5 consecutive strikeouts, kept the game at hand after Wakefield left. His fastball topped out at 99 mph and he makes it look so effortless.

I really can't believe that Ortiz has fallen from grace that quickly. He looks horrible out there. What a shame from perhaps one of the most feared hitters ever.

Janssen still has a ways to go. Hell, he hasn't pitched in almost 2 years so I think that a little slack must be given but the Red Sox had a ton of baserunners on and could not bring them in.

I checked out Daniel Bard and boy can he certainly throw the ball well. The Red Sox look to have a keeper on their hands.

Wakefield is one of those pitchers that you don't know what the hell to expect from him. He has had the Blue Jays number over the course of his career and although he did blow it last night, he is still a mainstay in the rotation. For an old guy he sure is crafty (most of the time)...lol.

If you can learn how to throw a kuckleball (which can be taught), you can make millions in pro baseball.
And you dont need to throw harder than 70 mph, which is about the average for a human being

Should be an easy one for Tallet today. There is a major black hole from the 6 spot thru 9 and if he keeps the ball down on Lowell, he will add to his league leading GIDP, if anyone is on first. Pedroia has cooled off. Ellsbury is due to cool down after a 22 game hitting streak. Varitek gets lucky once in a while. Baldelli is a strikeout machine, two K's coming today. Green/Lugo, both are poison - pick one. Ortiz, well, no explanation needed. How the hell did this team get to first place?

Red Sox
1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. Kevin Youkilis, 1B
4. Jason Bay, LF
5. Mike Lowell, 3B
6. David Ortiz, DH
7. Jason Varitek, C
8. Rocco Baldelli, RF
9. Nick Green, SS
-- Brad Penny, SP

Blue Jays
1. Marco Scutaro, SS
2. Aaron Hill, 2B
3. Alex Rios, RF
4. Vernon Wells, CF
5. Adam Lind, DH
6. Jose Bautista, 3B
7. Lyle Overbay, 1B
8. Raul Chavez, C
9. Joe Inglett, LF
-- Brain Tallet, SP

Good game today.

Tallett gave up only one hit from the 3rd through the 7th after limiting the damage in the very shaky first 2, 4 walks and a home run.

Then 1-2-3 for League and Downs takes care of the 9th.

Rios was a hitting machine today and even Wells contributed an insurance RBI with two out.

So far, so good.
