Agreed.

Carlson messes things up again! According to MLB.com the lead off double he allowed was plum in the middle of the plate. So 3 losses to him now and a poor ERA.

Still shouldn't have come down to that. Seems a bit like other seasons now with good pitching and an inability to score runs, even against mediocre pitchers. I thought Cito had changed all that? :(
I'm not blaming Cito for this and the bats have been pretty hot all year round but to suddenly not produce runs the last few games is disheartening. Last night, they couldn't hit the ball off a pitcher who is average at best.

agreed.... his record speaks for itself, the bats have gone cold (as was bound to happen sooner or later) and you can't seriously expect them to keep taking 2 out 3 every time, new pitchers are coming and let's see where we are in 2 weeks before we throw the towel

btw somebody please SHOOT Wells !!!!!

Casey Janssen and Ricky Romero are joining the 5 man rotation and Brett Cecil and Bobby Ray have been optioned back down to Las Vegas.

Janssen is supposed to pitch against Atlanta tonight.

Now rotation is:

Halladay
Janssen
Romero
Tallet
Richmond

I didn't watch the game or even see highlights but why was Halladay yanked after only giving up 5 hits and throwing 95 pitches through 7?
Inglett pinch hit for him in the 8th with 2 out and a runner on 2nd, when it was still 0-0. Inglett struck out, looking IIRC.

Every team goes through a slump and its the Jay's turn, fact of life. Don't forget that our bats were number #1 in many offensive categories now laws of averages kicking in. But we still have a very good hitting team and slump will be over soon.

I would trade Wells to any team for a mascot and will still pay for his salary.

The TERRIBLE TWINS went 0 for 8 last night and are 0 for 6 so far tonight. They are as useless as an anchor to a drowning man.

awesome research THANKS a lot
Lawyerman, that was great research.

Now can you tell me what Alex Rios batting average is when
The dome is open, the wind is more than 12km/hour, but less than 20km/hour, its an over cast day, on a 1/2 moon against a RHP in an afternoon game withthe temperature below 20degrees.

:D

Almost certainly another loss tonight. This time down to Camp.

Good performance by Richmond. Gaston should have kept him in the game a bit longer.

Good effort by Wells as well. He made both Jays runs (up to now in the 9th innings). Usual story with runners left on base.

Yes, it looks like the 'Jays have been found out a bit'. They obviously aren't as good as they had appeared.

Need to remember all these losses have been on the road against strong teams and there aren't too many teams with a winning record away from home. Also several of these games could have gone either way, including even today's when the Jays had the bases loaded with one out in the seventh innings with game tied 2 - 2 and got nothing out of it (again).

Pitching line up looks strong. Bullpen has one or two weaknesses - Ryan and Carlson in particular. Could add Camp as well after today's implosion.

Biggest single problem right now is making runs. Wells has been disappointing but seems to be finding some form. Showing much more patience at the plate. The problem is with the others that were scoring runs, aren't now. I don't know what you do about that. :(

he needs to be able to hit in clutch situation the same way Hill, Lind, Barajas and Scuttaro were doing, a step in the right direction will be for him to switch places with Lind in the batting order

Another day, another loss.

I don't think it's as simple as that blueline as they have now lost to a pretty poor team. It seems like the team is now playing with absolutely no confidence - they are out before they get themselves out. Each player that has been playing well is thinking they will have to do something special and will then try too hard. Conversely Rios and Wells are not playing that badly - see Wells 2 steals the other night.

Bringing up Janssen and Romero, and sending Snider down might now be a case of too little too late.

Having said all that, they have Romero and Haliday coming up. Hopefully those pitchers can turn the tide by going a long way through each game. Right now the Jays of 2009 are looking much too much like those of 2008.

BTW Ryan has proved he's a waste of time in the line-up now. Gaston probably thought he'd be inspired by being back in Baltimore. He obviously wasn't. Zaun however seized his chance to get some revenge.
