Personally, I like the writing of BG. I find having the same tired attacks each episode boring. Take a look at the original BG, you could almost set your clock by the sequence of events.

There is nothing wrong with character or plot development. There is nothing wrong with changing the pace. And there is nothing wrong with not relying on Cylon attacks to drive interest.

I agree, character developement is important and not relying on the toasters for excitement is a good idea but I mean, come on. Whatever happened to Hera who was dying in one episode and not mentioned for 4 weeks? What happened to the six that helped Boomer bring Hera back? They showed one scene of her "making out with her imaginary baltar" and then, pffft nothing. Why isn't Boomer freaked because the humans lied to her about Hera dying? All this talk of the supernova matching the image on the temple walls, but what came of it? Did they set off in that direction? are they just cruising around looking for chicks? Do they have any idea of which direction to head in?

Nothing is mentioned of any of that. Nada, nil, nothing. Whatever happened to continuity and plotlines? Instead of bringing in more, they should finish the ones they started, or at least continue them.

Sorry, but they just aren't doing it in my opinion. Considering how great the previous seasons were, this one blows. Kind of reminds me of the last Sopranos season.....

I think part of the problem is you may not be paying close enough attention.

Whatever happened to Hera who was dying in one episode and not mentioned for 4 weeks?
They mentioned that the doctor were able to help her at the end of episode when she ware recovered.

What happened to the six that helped Boomer bring Hera back?
Boomer and hubby asked for her to be left on a planet but it was decided six would be held in a cell. (Same episode.) I believe in the next episode Boomer went to see six and offered to get her some new clothes and apologized for for what happened to her.

Why isn't Boomer freaked because the humans lied to her about Hera dying?
In the speech from Adama after find out that her child was a alive he said something like "I know what it is like to lose a child (his son), you daughter is alive and someday you will come to appreciate that fact". Mean we could have just killed her we tried as best we could to keep her secret and in turn saving her life.

All this talk of the supernova matching the image on the temple walls, but what came of it?
The Image on the matched at the temple walls also matched the Supernova, Star Buck's drawings, and the clouds in the episode where she died. The mean because the drawing was the chosen one who walked into the temple was to follow the sign and lead the people to earth I guess. Well Starbuck followed the sign there is a good chance that she will reappear next week or at the start of the new season.

(I got to admit I watch some of them twice because I am usually doing a couple of things at the same time, and there is a lot going on so I miss stuff the first time)

That may be all well and good hunter but, considering the severity of the plotlines, I think something more than a simple mention would be more appropriate. I mean, boomer was enraged yet, because of a simple speech all is forgiven? ummm not very realistic.

Anyhow, I stand by what I said. Not very realistic conclusions for the various plotlines considering how realtively speaking, significant, they were. Kind of like somewhere in an episode between Starbuck jumping from bed to bed Adama mentions to helo: oh in case you didn't know, we're not heading for earth anymore, we're going to planet x......btw, how are the gobbleflaggens in engine room 3?

Your kind of missing the point of character development. You do something now and draw on it later. It is the reason they do the recap at the beginning of each episode so you have an idea what is the motivating the characters.

I would live to see another slutty series that wants to do every guy in the fleet... Sure... If the rating drop I am sure they will. :D

Can't please everyone I guess.

Character development yeah, but watchout for the phrase *type-casting* when shows get boring. In the old series, when Baltar was captured, every episode went south, until "The Hand of God" when a lone Cylon Basestar came out of no where and Adama (Greene) ordered to attack it.

Another issue is cost of the show. Since it's made in......Vancouver......pray the CAD gets weaker, which means more toaster stories.

Everyone on a great series get type cast.

The inspired Hand of God - last of the original series

- they decide to fight the last Basestar standing between them and a clear path away from the cylons - (Cylons are assumed to be too stupid to be able to track down what happened to a missed Basestar.)
- they decide to break into Basestar and blind the aft censor array - the heroes land on an automated ship - no system to check for extra fighters landing on an automated ship - they take out some guards and blow the sensor array computers - they get back to their fighter (luckily no one took it)
- the mighty BSG blows up the Basestar as the hero get away just in time
- the heroes "Waggle" their way home so their friends on the might BSG blow them out of the air

I missed the rating inspired writing of the past.

if you watch battlestar galactica - you're a geek. It was the rule for the old series in the 50's and its the same rule today.

You forgot a few things about "The Hand of God":

- Baltar was offered limited freedom to help in the Base Star attack.
- Every Cylon ship was destroyed with the same stock footage shot, except 2 (now which writer did that? How 'bout none).
- Apollo was F'n Sheeba. Starbuck was F'n Casseopia
- First time Blue Squadron and Silver Spar Squadron faced actual Cylon combat without the Pegasus.
- At the end of the episode, "THE EAGLE HAS LANDED" was on the monitor.

Yes, I SERIOUSLY do miss the good writing of the past, from time to time. Some writers of today, forget how to write. It's not an easy process and it must be very difficult when the makers of Battlestar Galactica say to a writer, "Don't submit an idea about Battlestar Galactica as it would be considered a minus, but we will be happy to meet you anyway. But if you submit the idea, we cannot meet." The Politics of Dancing.

Starbuck is the ultimate chick for me so if they kill her for real I will boycott BSG LOL I also have to watch episodes more then once (thank god for Torrent). I tell you watching Starbuck is total porn for me... her having issues is just damnnnnnnnnnnnnn sexy! She can come here and be my destiny ANY time!!! (especially when she's in her Swat gear)

And BTW hunter I LOVE geeks, if you watch Bsg, Stargate or play CoH/CoV/Wow or half life two .... then line up right here LOL They don't call me the corrupter of geeks for no reason!

Come on she is the key to the remaining cylons and probably the key to Earth. She has a destiny. Sign in the temple. Something weird and bitter about her mother (although I have met her type).

Did you ever notice Starbuck could out perform any at all pilots (even Boomer), seems faster and strong then any of the cylon models... Just some food for thought...

I don't like being the Comic book guy but some has to be...

I have mommy issues too, I could sooth her issues LOL And yes she's better so maybe she IS one of the final five, or maybe as a female growing within a male dominated career she feels she needs to be better then everyone?!?!?!?!?! And don't forget she's a tough chick, she fought Six toe to toe and won, she broke her leg and yet still managed to salvage a Cylon fighter to save herself. HOT!

The list was of online community video games not comics LOL And is that THUNDERCATS you got in you sig??? I loved that cartoon when I was a wee lass! Now, I'm a bonifide geek LOL

Whats with them saying "frack you", "frack off" etc. Did the sensor change the voice from saying the usual "fuck you", and "fuck off". I think its funny.

Nope it's a geniune BSG thang.... since the first episode of the new series it's been "frack" maybe it helps with censorship and them being able to air at a resonable time

How about trying to bring the word frack into everyday life, I wonder what peeps would say. Like say- what the fracks going on man- when at work and tell your ahole boss that he is fracked up. I bet they would think twice about what you were saying, I wonder if the ahole would fire me:eek: I know this sounds dumb but oh well. Maybe a frack you t-shirt or something lol.

I have thought for a long time that she could be a cylon because there is no one in her past, like parents or other siblings.

"Frack", actually spect "Frac" in Galactican/Caprican langauge was from the original series in the 70's and used as the F word for the new series. But what's missing are microns, centons, felgercarb, centars, sectars, to name a few and my favourite: Yarns! I would have wanted them to change the Earth time they use to the colonial system. And of course The Chief (who first had the first frac with Boomer Valeri), uses felgercarb all the time.
