Shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of DJ Mister Cee AKA The Finisher yesterday afternoon. He was 57 years old. He started as rapper Big Daddy Kane's DJ on his debut album Long Live the Kane (1988). He was also instrumental in helping build the career of fellow Brooklyn (Bed-Stuy) native Notorious BIG in the early 90's. For almost two decades he had a popular radio show on Hot97 and then more recently had a M-F nightly show on LL Cool J's Rock the Bells radio Sirius/XM. He also produced several hip hop mixtapes in the 1990's and early 2000's. I listened to part of his show on Tuesday night certainly not knowing that would be the last live show he would ever do. Surreal. RIP
In honor of this true hip hip pioneer here are 3 joints he was a part of
1. Notorious BIG freestyle
2. Mister Cee's Master Plan
3. Getta Grip Muthaphuckers Pt. 2 (mixtape)
