But meanwhile israel is trying to preserve the status quo and is basically satisfied with it (not counting settler violence which is def fucked up) while the other side is trying to change it and is actively using violence against civilians while doing so.

Hey I'm on Israel's side. I consider them a far better Western Ally. And will negotiate peace treaties with neighboring nations. But let's not call it out. They are encroaching and baiting them. The Palestinians are too stubborn, stupid and religiously directed to not become the author of their own demise as well. It's a shitshow with recent 75 years and before that thousands more of wanting absolute control of the area and expelling each other, happily using violence.
