Cherry saw the Europeans as soft and well you know he was right in that time...He was a you have to beat em in the alley type of guy. Thats the way it was in the minors where he spent all but 1 game of his career.Granted. It was not hyperbole when I called him a warrior. Who couldn't appreciate him?

But, in general, Cherry bashed the Euros. Where would the league be now without them? Talent is already pretty thin.
Back to the point, after a long grinding season, anybody who then goes to the Worlds to play for their country shows dedication which should be recognized as such and praised for it.
Everybody outlives his usefulness and has an expiry date in his profession. Cherry lasted longer than most.
Much respect to John Tavares for his playing for his country after a so so personal season where he was subjected to much criticism
