If Martin Jones has a good game on Saturday night against the Penguins, I think Samsonov has to be considered number 3. He looks too shaky, and one step behind the play. The Leafs have a goaltending coach, but whatever he is doing with Samsonov isn't working.
Jones is a terrible goalie I don't see that happening. And I will probably throw down a few bucks on the Pens moneyline Saturday night.
I didn't see last nights game but that was an impressive 3rd period comeback to at least salvage a point. Still losing to the Blue Jackets on home ice is pretty shameful.

They lost to Ottawa
They lost to Buffalo
They lost to Chicago ... twice
It's what the Leafs do.
Have been for years
That's 3 of their 6 regulation losses
Could have been 4 if not for the comeback vs Columbus.
They coast through the bad teams and get up for the good ones.
No surprises there.
Samsonov with his .878 SV% certainly doesn't help.
His record 5 wins and 6 losses. 5 of them in OT

This team is also notorious for slow starts and leads the league in comebacks.

Leafs are 1-4 against the bottom 5 teams.
I think someone mentioned this is the first time in the NHL that a team won a game after giving up a 5 goal lead in the 3rd period.

That one win you're referring to was on Dec 7 vs Ottawa.
Leafs won 4 to 3 but the shots on goal was Ottawa 41 and Toronto 22.
That's double the shots Ottawa had over Leafs.
Woll was outstanding. He stopped 29 of 31 shots before getting injured. That's a .935 SV%
Jones came in and stopped 9 of 10 and got the win even though it should have gone to Woll who left the game when Leafs were ahead.
Forsberg let in 4 goals on 22 shots for a .818 SV%

Leafs are one of the top teams in the NHL and some of you clowns still complain how they do it...when it comes to winning games they don't ask How they ask How Many.

That hit by McCabe may be the hit of the year and totally clean. Shoulder to chest.

For sure Zab...jad deserved an extra two for instigating.
solid hit. the trouba kid on rangers plays the game the way it should be played also; aside from when he clubbed frederic upside the head. still cant believe there was no suspension on that one  .

Watch Samsonov get a shutout, it's the Leafy thing to do.

Interesting stat Leafs lead the Eastern Conference in hits.
Followed by TB, NYI, Oilers, Florida, Montreal, Boston in that order

Don't know who the hockey commentator was but late in the 3rd period he was praising Samsonov in spite of his .878 SV%
Says he has a 5-1-1 record when in fact his record is 5-1-5. That's 5 wins 6 losses with 5 of those losses in OT.
Perhaps if he made more saves in regulation those 5 OT losses could have been regulation wins.
All other Leafs goalies combined have only 1 OT loss.

Martin Jones is not horseshit, he’s a veteran he’s been around and he’s won a lot of games.

Matthew Knies is looking like a prototypical power forward, a la Ken Hodge or Eric Staal. I just read surprisingly that his fight last night was his first at any level of hockey.

And after a slow start Jake McCabe has been looking a lot more solid.

Maple Leafs are 35-19-2 without Mathews in the lineup since he's been on the team.

Hmmm, perhaps you've found the solution for the playoffs
