3 arrested for vandalism during anti-semitic terror rally in Merrimack
Protesters voicing support for Palestine were arrested in connection with vandalism Monday at Elbit Systems of America, a defense contractor in Merrimack, police said.
Three people were arrested on several charges, including riot.
Police before 8 a.m. were called to 220 Daniel Webster Highway for reports of protestors blocking the driveway and multiple people believed to be on the roof.
The fire department also was sent for a report of smoke coming from the roof.
Police found protesters blocking the driveway voicing support for Palestine, according to Merrimack police.
They eventually vacated the roadway and allowed officers to access the property.
Officers discovered the front of the building had been spray painted with red paint, windows had been smashed, and at least one of the main lobby doors had been locked shut via a bicycle anti-theft device, police said.
Officers also confirmed that at least three people accessed the roof. They were charged with riot, sabotage, criminal mischief, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
Arrested were Sophie Marika Ross, 22, of Housatonic, Mass.; Calla Mairead Walsh, 19, of Cambridge, Mass., and Bridget Irene Shergalis, 27 of Dayville, Conn., according to police
Police said the smoke was caused by an incendiary device similar to ones later located on one of the suspects. Officers on the roof found more spray painting, smashed skylights and damage to HVAC equipment.
The three were held on preventive detention and will be arraigned in the Hillsborough County Superior Court – South at 1 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said.
The FBI is working to determine who else might have been involved.

Toronto Police announced Thursday that an investigation – led by the Hate Crime Unit – has resulted in the arrests of 11 people allegedly connected with “hate-motivated” mischief at the business.
On Nov. 10, around 4:15 a.m. – a school night – officers responded to a mischief call at Chapters Indigo located at Bay St. and Bloor St. W.
A group of vandals glued posters to the doors and windows of the store, then splashed red paint on the windows and sidewalk.
Their message was clear: Indigo founder Heather Reisman (who is Jewish) was “funding genocide.”
Bizarrely, protesters congregated outside 52 Division on Wednesday calling on cops to drop the charges. They insisted that the vandalism wasn’t “hate-motivated.”

In an incident that appears to echo the “hate crime” that actor Jussie Smollett claimed to have experienced in Chicago, Hesham Ayyad told the Cleveland chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations on Oct. 22 that he was a victim of a hate crime.
“An individual in a dark SUV reportedly hit the 20-year-old victim while he was walking,” CAIR stated at the time. “The victim of the reported hit and run said he was walking home from eating lunch when a car slowed down and rolled down the window. The driver of the car allegedly started yelling at him using anti-Palestinian statements like ‘Kill all Palestinians,’ ‘Long live Israel,’ as he swerved his car to intimidate the victim. The driver then allegedly turned around and hit the man while shouting ‘Die!’”
“We call on state, local and federal law-enforcement authorities to monitor and investigate crimes related to the rising Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian racism,” Faten Odeh, interim executive director of CAIR-Ohio in Cleveland said on Oct. 23.
After an investigation, police no longer believe Ayyad’s story. “Injuries sustained at the time of the incident were caused by a violent fight that the alleged victim had participated in with his brother, which was confirmed by area video surveillance,” the North Ridgeville Police Department stated.
Ayyad was arrested and charged with “making false alarms, falsification, obstructing official business, domestic violence and assault,” and his brother, 19-year-old Khalil Ayyad, was arrested and charged with domestic violence and assault, Cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer reported.

The “Mapping Project” that launched last summer, identifying locations of Jewish and pro-Israel entities in Massachusetts, as well as law-enforcement sites, drew widespread condemnation, including for being “another example of old-fashioned Jew-hatred using a modern platform.”
A new report from the Zachor Legal Institute think tank suggests that Iran is connected to the project, which maps not only Jewish sites, but also 271 police stations, nine military bases and installations, in addition to Homeland Security, FBI and Secret Service offices and sites connected to weapons manufacturers with ties to the U.S. government.
Another 17 U.S. nongovernmental organizations have endorsed the report, according to a Zachor release.
The report “argues that the outsized focus placed on the American security apparatus indicates that the map is not domestic in origin, but might be a product of a foreign agenda and that the chief suspect is the Islamic Republic of Iran,” per the think tank.
Zachor added that Iranian state-run PressTV has praised the “Mapping Project,” which has collaborated with JISR Collective, which has ties to the Iranian government.
“There is no logical explanation for why the map was published other than to serve as a kill list for extremists to use when targeting United States’ national security infrastructure and prominent Jews in America,” stated Marc Greendorfer, president of Zachor.
“One only needs to look at the increasingly frequent violent attacks against law enforcement, homeland security and Jews in the United States to see that whoever is behind this project is trying to promulgate violence to promote an anti-American agenda,” he added. “We believe that this has all the hallmarks of Iranian terror.”

Police arrested the three, who had gotten on the building roof, where smoke had been seen.
