Cat almost all the buffets are gone. The few left gourmet and expensive.

And as for San Fran its a shithole now. Especially driving into. Until they get a handle on their homeless catastrophe don't go there.

The rest is standard tourist shit in the USA. I can the same about NY and other hubs.

There are maybe 10-15 good buffets left in LV that are worth going to, ranging in price from $30-$80. Gone are the $9.99 All you can eat buffets. As far as SF being full of homeless shitting in the street, it is true that things have gotten worse. It all depends where you go. You can say the same about Vancouver. All the bums and scumola head on over to the warm climates when it gets cold in the east. Keep in mind all food is expensive in LV. If you go 20 minutes away from the main strip. the food is cheaper. LV Chinatown has good food at a moderate price.

Some LV buffets use to have a one price ( $80 ) 24 hour bracelet all you can eat deal. If you work it right you could get 4 meals in especially if you were on east coast time. You could even have dropped in for a cup of coffee and a piece of cake on the deal

More like 4-5. Seriously. They tore them out and put in food courts during the pandemic. One left on freemont. Ceasers has theirs, Southpoint. Maybe one or two more. Thats it.

Your info is dated. I was this year. I see Wynn above too. Those buffets get up to 100 bucks. Best deal is Southpoint

The Garden Buffet at Southpoint is near the Stat which is near the Mandalay Bay Hotel where they had the mass shooting incident. Not much goes on down there which is why they have to attract people with a cheapo $13.99 breakfast brunch. The list below still has buffets.

Ok, the Southpoint is a 15 minute DRIVE south of Mandalay Bay. The Strat is NORTH of the Wynn clear the other side of the Strip. None are close to eachother. And the Southpoint is sold out regularly from California clientele due to free parking, better room rates, a horse arena for show with high end clients. Home to Michaels one of the top restaurants in the city. Its also a go to for Las Vegas locals for thevpoker room, sports book, and good table games. Upkeep and decor are excellent.

Have you actually been there?

And when was your last trip to Vegas?

This is not the 1st time I've heard different reports. Long way from everything being free as long as you bought chips the gamble. Which you wanna do anyeay And if you smart you just used to cash them Past a certain point.
Too many not addicted gamblers I guess. Still it's 1⁄3 the price to get to Vegas compared to LA.

The Strip is now all pay parking. And expensive too. Thats why I mentioned SP. And the Resort fees are about half. So saving 60 USD a day right there. Add in about 50 a day on food cost easy and SP is seriously the best idea for you imo.

YouTube has plenty of travel, hotel, and food videos on LV and the surrounding area. There are still food deals to be had, but some are only available at certain times and/or are a bit of a distance from the strip. If you gamble, downtown generally has better odds and lower minimums than the strip.

Love Vegas.... where there is a price point foe everything. $10 tables to high rollers. Breakfast for $5 to Bellegio or MGM buffet for $40 plus. And it goes on...

Some of the off strip affordable spots.

The Pinball Hall of Fame is down street from MGM. Cash 10 dollars in to quarters and go nuts for an afternoon.

There is a brewpub restaurant called Ellis Isand. Really good, not too exotic beers are brewed on premise. Not expensive meals but nothing fancy and inexpensive tables.

When coming back from Redrock, stopped at a local Mexican place. Really good food. Don't recall the place. Put there is value off strip and you need not go far.

There is a Bavarian Restaurant House, name escapes me. Food was good, atmosphere already but expensive AF. Go back each time because it's our thing. But, it would br a hard pass.

Yup, I too recall those days, along with a child riding on a parent lap while someone drove and smoking at the office. Things change. Not stating for better or worse. Just change.

This trip I'm going down for US Thanksgiving ( 5 days) and I like to have plans for most of the days. Day 1 Rod Stewart , Day 2 NFL gambling at the sports books, Day 3 Cirque du Soleil Mad Apple (NYNY), Day 4 Arizona vs LV and Day 5 KC vs LV Raiders. Red eye back. If you're a gambler it's best to plan some events, it beats playing at the tables 24/7. Have fun !

Yes, back in the day $9.99 Al you can eat buffets, no admission charges to shows such as Siegfried and Roy, Cirque De Soleil, Wayne Newton, who I never liked but put on the best show I ever saw. Fre bar while gambling. Played no limit holdem, drew a straight flush won $800. Best trip is by far was the Grand Canyon.

Was in Vegas back in August for the first time. Are you staying at an MGM or a Caesar's property? If so, sign up for the loyalty programme. Tip everyone - with $5 bills if you can (or $1 per drink). I now think I was kinda cheap tipping $1 everywhere. I regret not going to the "old school" part of the Strip (Freemont) and wish I'd visited the Mob museum and the neon sign museum. The steaks at Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris were awesome. No matter where you stay, don't expect housekeeping to do their job unless you leave a tip in the room (was at Caesar's Palace and the room was never made during my stay). Most casino tables are $25 minimum - the lower priced tables are on the North End of the Strip (eg. Strat, Golden Nugget). The Arts District has some great bars and restaurants too. Just the regular food portions were huge for me, so I didn't do any All You Can Eat buffets. Make sure to wear running shoes as you will be walking a lot as the hotels and venues are quite spread out. High end (window) shopping gets boring after a while as most venues have mostly the same luxury stores. Buy water from Walgreen's and never from street vendors (some people ask for a second fridge in their room "for medication" but use it to store cheap water and beer from outside). Avoid hobbying as i) it's very expensive and ii) she's probably a cop. By the time you get there, all the street madness from Formula One will be over with.
