I heard about this place and decided to check it out. I phoned them up and asked if they had a schmeisser MP40. Yes they did. Fire off 3 clips for $30.00 I seem to remember. It was something to check off my list of things to do in life as Siegfried and Roy were two German products who seemed to be on some kind of hiatus .
Anyway after shooting away, to make small talk I asked my attendant if it was legal to own a machine gun in Nevada. He told me that there were over 20,000 registered machine gun owners in Las Vegas at the time.
Hoover Dam is worth a look. Scenery sucks, unless you like barren desert. Stay inside the casinos.
First time I went was back in the 80's. Checked the yellow pages for working girls. Starting at $400. Passed. Guy at the motel saw BC plates and asked which state that was in. I told him where it was. Said it was close to Seattle Washington. Got a blank look. Didn't know where that was either.
American's knowledge of geography is pretty pathetic.

This trip I'm going down for US Thanksgiving ( 5 days) and I like to have plans for most of the days. Day 1 Rod Stewart , Day 2 NFL gambling at the sports books, Day 3 Cirque du Soleil Mad Apple (NYNY), Day 4 Arizona vs LV and Day 5 KC vs LV Raiders. Red eye back. If you're a gambler it's best to plan some events, it beats playing at the tables 24/7. Have fun !
Sounds like you've been many times.
I was there last month, I was very impressed with sportsbook at Circa on Freemont DT, spectacular actually.
When I was there the Packers were in town....cheeseheads all over the place, lol. The visiting teams travel very well to Vegas. I am curious what you paid for the Raider's ticket. $450 USD was the going rate for a mediocre seat at the Packers game.
A bummer that U2 is on a break until December, I saw the Sphere show and it was fantastic.
Enjoy.....give us all a Rod Stewart review on your return!

Since 2005, I think I've been there about 40 times. I never get off the strip and am dying to hit Freemont DT and see Circa's huge sportsbook and long bar. I never had a high end steak and those couple of items are on my bucket list. My Labor Day trip was the first time I hit a buffet, Wynn and it was 9.5/10, had 2 friends meet me, I usually travel solo. I bought my KC/LV ticket Sec 343, Row 9's in May for $ 350 USD on Ticketmaster. I added a few things to my itinerary since I don't want to play BJ and gamble 24/7 and have learned it's cheaper to do other things LOL ! When I say the following everyone laughs, especially the younger males, but I think I've seen Celine Dion about 30 times ( mostly in LV/Montreal and Toronto), best concert I've even seen outside of Bruno Mars, Paul McCartney and Prince.

Apologies all, I was too busy reminiscing I forgot about the thread main title . . Use Rideshare ( Lyft / Uber ) as much as you can, it's so affordable and readily available, the hotel blocks from one hotel to another are huge. And sign up for all the main Player's Cards from the majors ( Caesar's , Wynn, Venetian, MGM and Cosmo), if you don't mind spam they do send/offer you nice hotel discounts if you play or not. This Labor Day I got 50% off Venetian and $ 50 slots play and I hadn't even been prior to COVID, no brainer !

The free drinks handed out at the hotels to the gamblers are very scarce these days. So if you drink buy your own at CVS ( Shoppers Drugmart type store ) Bar booze, gambling and hobbying in LV is very expensive. Do not bring booze into the casino, but you can walk around in the street in LV drinking out of an open container.

Most people are wanting to rear end their lives and live it up at 70 -90 ( their golden years), I front ran my whole life and have zero regrets. I think this will be my 3rd Rod Stewart concert ( 1 Toronto, 2 LV) and I bought a nose bleed 2nd Mezz Row A ticket for $ 99.00 to see his greatest hits type show on the day of my LV arrival. I find if I can lay low on the gambling the first two nights, I can put on the PP and play looser and more aggressive my latter nights there.

+1 on the Ubers. They are all over the place and I never waited more that 10 minutes for one. Grab an Uber from the airport, so much faster than a shuttle. I also used the monorail to get up and down the strip.

If you like blackjack, go to the Golden Nugget on Freemont Street and play by the pool with the bikini clad dealers :p

If you like pools, go to Circa on Freemont and hang out at the stadium pool. $25 entry fee.

Just thought of the Las Vegas taxi scam which usually ends up costing first timers about 1.5x the regular fare, or just take Rideshare. It's just a short walk or elevator ride from the luggage carousels and separate from the taxi/limo/shuttle area ( it's not advertised fully like at the hotels). If you take a taxi, many times the driver will feel you out if you're a first timer and ask you if you want to go the highway route or the non-highway route. If you're staying anywhere on the main strip always choose the non-highway route, you're travelling at less mph but you don't travel way out just to come way back in. Trust me, a few times I wasn't paying attention and I got scammed. You can thank me later or put that $ 15.00 USD savings on red ! LOL !

Here's something that I spotted when I went to Lost Wages Labor Day weekend, there are many sellers of legit Apple Air Pro pods in the hotel casinos. I got spotted by 2 EI women about 40+ and they are pretending to cry that they lost all of their money. They had bags of brand new wrapped Apple Air Pro pods worth $ 250 CAD brand new, and they were selling them for $ 40 USD. I think I could of haggled them down to $ 20. I opened one box up, taking off the cellophane and linked it up to my Apple phone no problem. 100% Apple product and works great , been using them since Sept 7th. They thanked me tons and took off like 10 bracelets and placed them in my hand, they looked like 20 or 22 karat gold, but I gave them all back. Going in two weeks and I'm going to buy 5 more at $ 20USD each. LOL !

La la land
Walk the S Las Vegas Blvd strip. For the eye candy and sillyness.

I walked between W. Russell Rd ( Mandalay Hotel) to Spring Mountain Rd / Sands Ave. I also entered every hotel. Some were a couple of minutes other and hour no more. I walk and see and not stand around an admire the store products.

It depends on who you are traveling with and your plans. The Linq Promenade is a must see. The High Roller is a definite must. Great views. Virgils bbq is close by. The Coke building top floor. Get your picture taken with the bear. New York New York. Ride the roller coaster. Bellagio botanical gardens plus the chocolate fountain. Each hotel has something unique. Paris Paris try Ramseys Burger. The Efiel tower is pricey. The Ventian gondola ride is okay. Definitely check out a Cirque show. Pinball Hall of Fame on Tropicana is fun. Freemont at night. The Mob Museum. The Neon Light museum. Area 15… Fashion Show Mall. There is endless possibilities. Wear comfortable shoes

I like visiting every hotel also, I cruise by the lobby and casino areas and ask myself if I would feel comfortable staying here one visit. I also make my own hotel rating to see if compares to the consensus website rating ( dumb little thing I always do) .
