I think she should be left alone.I'm surprised how many people seem to be displeased with the CBC for doing the investigation. They seem to think she should be left alone.
It's actually part of a growing trend of non-indigenous people claimimg to have indigenous background. The way natives are treated, I would be suprised that someone would be deceptive about that. The native family says they adopted her. CBC has nothing better to do then go after a 82 year old woman.
Did you read the piece?Listen. Sometimes your family tells you shit when your a kid and you believe it. They didn’t have DNA tests 40 years ago, and I’m not about to guess everyone’s motivations. It does not affect me in the slightest either way.
If the media cancels her, she will be left alone...I'm surprised how many people seem to be displeased with the CBC for doing the investigation. They seem to think she should be left alone.
Considering this claim of hers dates back to the 60s, I don't really think you can think of it as part of a growing trend now. It's actually part of a growing trend of non-indigenous people claimimg to have indigenous background.
Yes she does. She looks pretty damn indigenous to me.
A great many Canadians are claiming metis heritage now in order to have access to various financial bennefits, education bennefits, loans etc. It's real problem as all you have to is claim it and you're good to go. But back in the 60s, no such luck.Considering this claim of hers dates back to the 60s, I don't really think you can think of it as part of a growing trend now.
Unless she's Hispanic-American with indigenous heritage?Yes she does.
Remarkably so.
Cherokee is South East US in any event. Lots of "white" folk in GA and Carolina w Cherokee blood. Alberta?!?!?!?!?!..... More like Athabascan or Blackfoot heritage.Alberta premier Danielle Smith has lied about having Cherokee and Ukrainian roots.
Danielle Smith says she has Cherokee roots, but there's no record of them
Danielle smith has claimed her family has Cherokee roots many times, but APTN was not able to find proof of Cherokee ancestry.www.aptnnews.ca
Her Indigenous heritage questioned, was Danielle Smith also wrong about her Ukrainian great-grandfather’s journey?
The Alberta premier says her beliefs are influenced by her great-grandfather’s flight from communism after WWI. We take a closer look.www.thestar.com
