Allegedly Hamas' tunnel system has cost more than a billion dollars meant for infrastructure and often they have entrances in private homes, businesses, and as shown in past wars, hospitals and schools.

Imagine how $1B could have actually addressed the electricity and water needs for Gaza's people?

Israel shows footage of Hamas killings ‘to counter denial of atrocities’ (msn.com)

Israeli authorities have shown harrowing footage of killings and mutilations during Hamas’s rampage in southern Israel on 7 October.

The government showed the 43-minute compilation in a private screening for dozens of foreign journalists at a military base in Tel Aviv on Monday to counter what it said were attempts to deny or downplay the extent of the atrocities.

The footage, captured by security cameras, body cameras worn by Hamas militants, vehicle dashboard cameras, social media accounts and videos from mobile phones, left some reporters in tears. The material included the killing of children and decapitation of some victims.

The audience was not allowed to record the compilation but one excerpt, approximately one minute long, was released to the public: it showed Hamas militants flagging down a car as it drove slowly along a rural road. The gunmen open fire, hitting the vehicle, which swerved and halted, revealing two people slumped in the front seats.

In another scene Hamas militants entered a house and spoke to a girl hiding under a table. “After some talking back and forth they shoot and kill her,” tweeted Jotam Confino, one of the correspondents at the screening. “Hard to say how old she is but looks like 7-9 years old.”

Another scene showed a father and his two sons, aged approximately seven and nine, running in their underwear to what appeared to be a bomb shelter. A Hamas militant threw a grenade, killing the man. The boys emerge bloodied and run. “Dad’s dead, it wasn’t a prank,” one shouts. “I know, I saw it,” replies his brother, later screaming: “Why am I alive?”

Other sequences showed a Hamas militant with an agricultural tool hacking at the head of a man lying on the ground, gunmen killing wounded female Israeli soldiers and a jubilant Hamas fighter calling his family: “I killed 10 Jews with my own hands. I’m using the dead Jewish woman’s phone to call you now.”

Another clip showed an Israeli woman inspecting a partially burned woman’s corpse to see if it was a family member. The victim’s dress was pulled up to her waist and her underpants had been removed. Maj Gen Mickey Edelstein, who briefed reporters after the viewing, said authorities had evidence of rape.

Still images showed a decapitated soldier, charred human remains, including those of young children, and several Islamic State (Isis) flags, the Times of Israel reported. “When we say Hamas is Isis, it’s not a branding effort,” R Adm Daniel Hagari told reporters after the screening.

Grisly scenes from the attack, in which more than 1,400 Israelis died, have been widely shared on social media in the past two weeks but Eylon Levy, an Israeli government spokesman, said there was a “Holocaust denial-like phenomenon” about the scale of atrocities.

The screening took place amid renewed appeals to Israel to halt its bombing of Gaza, which killed at least 400 Palestinians in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll in the territory to more than 5,000, according to the Hamas-run health ministry. The dead include 2,055 children, it said.

About 1.4 million people – more than half of Gaza’s population – have been displaced in the retaliatory bombing, creating a humanitarian calamity for people that are trapped and deprived of water, food and medicine, the United Nations said. Israeli authorities said they launched limited raids into Gaza in advance of an expected ground offensive.

5000 dead, 2000 are children, 1000 are women.
50% of all housing is totally destroyed.
No food, no water, no power.
Seeing as everybody including Hamas knew that this would happen, they were pretty fucking stupid to set things off, and it means that you have no moral high ground with which to advocate for their plight. Au contraire, you also knw that this would happen yet you cheered it on. Hardly someone who can pretend to care about Gazans.

This is a very legitimate concern. It would be an absolute outrage if they did not accomplish their goals after so many people dead.
They will never be able to get rid of all of Hamas.
They killed almost this many people in 2014.
Injured 30,000 in 2018.
Killed a few hundred in 2021.

It never does anything.

They've already turned the world against them.
No government will be able to support them for long.

BDS and ending apartheid is still the only path forward.

You sound surprised. You knew that Israel would retaliate while you were praising their Oct. 7 attack.
The US knew that Hamas would attack if Israel made no moves towards peace.
Nobody was surprised they attacked.

Blinken: ‘There has to be’ a prospect for a peaceful political solution between Israel and Palestinians

“I think there has to be. I think both sides are reminded that we have to find a way to break the cycle, because if we don’t it will repeat itself at great cost,” Blinken told

So let me get this straight.

Hamas has spent almost two decades building miles upon miles of a subterranean tunnel network and amassed an arsenal of Iranian supplied weapons, rockets, fuel and gear to protect Gaza and it's civilians, but, didn't they forget to build something else in all that time? Something like a subterranean network of tunnels and shelters to protect the very people they purport to represent and protect. I mean, call it an almost two decade lapse in forethought, a two decade long temporary loss of memory, temporary amnesia. Call it what you will, but I'm quite certain they have signs on the doors to these miles upon miles of their subterranean tunnel network chock full of weapons, ammunition, rockets, fuel and gear that clearly state:

"KEEP OUT! HAMAS ONLY ALLOWED ENTRY. GAZANS NOT ALLOWED. FEND FOR YOURSELF!"

This entire situation is ridiculous. We are all forgetting they innocent people are dead in both sides. No need to continue to bomb and kill civilians there must be a better way.
Can you please post the stats on how many civilians on both sides have been killed in the past 20 years?

When you say "both sides" its important to note this is not just a war that is taking place right now its been ongoing for over 2 decades now. We can tell in this thread who is educated and has knowledge about the history of these two sides and those who are still trying to figure out the facts.

why do you say 2 decades? hasn't it been since the very creation of Israel in 1948?

Arafat was born to Palestinian parents in Cairo, Egypt, where he spent most of his youth and studied at the University of King Fuad I. While a student, he embraced Arab nationalist and anti-Zionist ideas. Opposed to the 1948 creation of the State of Israel, he fought alongside the Muslim Brotherhood during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War. Following the defeat of Arab forces, Arafat returned to Cairo and served as president of the General Union of Palestinian Students from 1952 to 1956.
In the latter part of the 1950s, Arafat co-founded Fatah, a paramilitary organization seeking the removal of Israel and its replacement with a Palestinian state.

Why do you use such insensitive language? 1000s of kids are dead in Gaza. Is this what you'd tell them?
I'm a realist. Thousands at Dresdin, in Stalingrad, in Hiroshima. In Darfur, In Ireland during the Potato Famine. Guns are the #1 cause of children's death in the USA. I can go on and on.

There is no clean war. Never has been, never will be. So long as the adults in Gaza place martyrdom and Islam above their own kids lives, and they do, this is the result.

I'm honestly past mourning over the fight over Jerusalem and the holyland. Of different muslim sects willing to die over trying to interpret the words of a warmongering David Koresh of the 8th century. I consider the nation of Islam a threat to Western Values, democracy and capitalism, as well as human rights.

I choose the side of the Jews for the simple reason they have better values. Its clear cut.

More what about ism. The war itself goes all the way back to 1949. With a few peace agreements, consistently broken and not accepted by Arab States and lately Palestinians.

This has been posted a few times now from different sources with some apparently still not wanting to believe. And while neither side is without sin. One side is clearly barbaric and the aggressor going all the way back to 1949, if a somewhat gentler word helps.

And if anyone is still struggling to understand why some here, and most civilized societies “support” Israel and or the eradication of Hamas/Terrorist. Read that a dozen times. And also keep in mind the fact, many wore Go Pros for home movies.

In many ways, we can call them the Darwin Award winners 2023 now. And even more people will “accept” ( realist of war) collateral damage.
