Ross Atkins should be assassinated for this deal, and the Teoscar deal and the whole town should come into the town square to watch. Lol “off with his head.”

I’m convinced anyone that has an opinion on why we should have traded Teoscar (meanwhile, the Blue Jays sign all these pointless deadbeat 1 year deals) is just a bunch of blah blah blah bullshit. DH the man who cares we needed his bat….

OK I need a rest from this thread… I’ll check in on Thursday when Shapiro has the press conference.

Minnesota losing 6-1 to Houston. I thought I heard a fan say "were not playing Toronto any more"

They could have traded kirk for more as he is young and was starting all star catcher

dumb trade but do not under estimate Varsho defense as he saved runs that do not show on stats

pitching staff was very good because of best outfielder defense in MLB

IMHO jays need less strikeouts better base running and more speed to play small ball

Varsho has speed and is the only jay who is a great bunter

very important in small ball

teams have won the big show with small ball and pitching
but they were better at it than the Jays

.

I anticipate Atkins will be gone within two weeks. I think we start next season with a new GM, John Schneider on the hot seat and some signings that will take us back closer to 2022. I might even throw Cody Bellinger in with that.

Philip
I thought this might be a possibility too as I feel like it might be the reason Schneider didn't get fired. They may have told him your getting let go, so it's not your decision anymore. Also might be the reason he threw Schneider under the bus. Sort of taking some shots and defending himself on the way out. That's how I felt after the press conference.

I keep looking at my phone, waiting for some kind of a notification that they fired Ross Atkins. I feel like it’s coming. Or maybe I’m just hallucinating. There’s so much hatred towards him out there. I feel like it’s undeniable. It’s literally plastered all over YouTube. My for you page has gone bananas with recommendation after recommendation.

…my for you page is filled with Ross Atkins, hatred and P Diddy, going to jail for offering the bounty and, because Kefee D was arrested in 2Pac‘s murder lol.

A while back I posted the AL East set a record this year for the highest winning percentage for a division with 5 teams or more. Well, the AL East just set another record. Most playoff losses by a division without a win.

I like the Texas Rangers. I’m probably a little biased because I was there two weeks ago. Man, they look good.

I think this Mark Shapiro press conference tomorrow will quite possibly drop some bombs.

Texas is great, but very streaky. Top level manager in Bochy.

I'm expecting Shapeero (phonetic spelling) to tow the corporate line and stand by Atkins (phonetic spelling LOL) but allow Schneider to remain despite his "independent" decision to pull Berrios.

If he indicts Atkins, then he indicts himself. It will be more of the "same old, same old" next year.

Rogers wants to see how much his renovations improve the bottom line.

I hereby nominate Ross Atkins for NLCS MVP. He deserves a big fat assist on this one. Congratulations to Moreno, Gurriel JR, and the entire Arizona Diamondbacks for making it to the NLCS. Oh, and also congratulations to Arizona for finishing first in all of Major League Baseball with the best defence, and least amount of errors in 2023.

Way to go Rossy boy!

Unfortunately this is about bang on. I thought maybe just from an optics stand point there is a small chance Atkins gets fired, which is why he couldn't fire Schneider but they probably wouldn't have waited if they were going to let him go. We're going to have to live with this shit for another couple of years at least.

Thinking back to the Jose Bautista tribute day, it was Edward Rogers who received the largest amount of boos from the crowd followed closely by Shapiro. In fact, I don't think anyone else got booed. If Rougned Odor was there he would have received a warmer response.

LOL. The fans know, don't they.

Actually, Rogers has been generous by increasing the payroll over the payroll tax level. He gets booed for raping the country with his fees for his services.

Very true. I give him and his late Father credit for being committed to making the Blue Jays competitive on a long term basis. Next year marks the 20th anniversary of Rogers 100% ownership of the team. Much, much better than Interbrew SA(poor Gord Ash).

For those Blue Jay fans who are fed up with Blue Jay coaching/ management, look at the LA Dodgers. Sportsnet showed this statistic last night of the biggest playoff upsets based on regular season win differential. The Dodger teams of the last 3 years hold 3 of the top 6 positions. Dave Roberts has been manager for 8 successful regular seasons with a stacked line up and 8 playoff appearences. However, he has won "only" one World Series with those stacked line ups, and has managed 3 of the top 6 teams that are victims of the biggest playoff upsets in history.

Playoff teams Year/ round Regular season win differential

White Sox over Cubs 1906 WS -23
Padres over Dodgers 2022 NLDS -22
Yankees over Mariners 2001 ALDS -21
Braves over Dodgers 2021 NLCS -18
Mets over Reds 1973 NLCS -17
Diamondbacks over Dodgers 2023 NLDS -16

Moreno is finding his stride as a big game playoff performer. Very good for the 23-year-old….. thanks again Ross!!
