I would also trade Vladdy, but I won't say he has a low baseball IQ. I think he is a natural hitting talent. I also think that the Blue Jays are pumping too many numbers into his mind and messing with his natural approach. I do think that he also is a young, inexperienced hitter, who chases success (bad swing and miss).Vlad has low baseball IQ but his skill still allows him decent numbers. His best year was when he was fat. I'd say put a barbecue in the dugout and make him full time dh. Make his only job .280 - 45 - 125 slash line.
He has no value in the field, or trade him with manoah. The only caveat is judgehad his first monster year when he was 25, then almost disappeared for 3 years and wasn't who he is now until he turned 29. Do jays or their fans play the waiting game?
Put him in a ballpark with a short left field fence and a team that allows him to choice his swing and approch. We've seen what happens when the Blue Jays analysis department micromanages this team.
If I'm Houston, I'm seeing what the Jays want for Vladdy.
