Look at it this very simple way. The more people that wear a mask the better. I don't think that anybody can argue that.
Wearing surgical or clothe masks doesn't stop the transmission of viruses such as covid. Where have you been for the past 2 years?

Not that it matters anymore. The "pandemic" is over. It seems you haven't gotten the memo.

Same old, same old. You keep repeating debunked arguments.

Tell that to the nearly 1,000 people still hospitalized in Ontario hospitals.

It seems that they haven't gotten the memo.

As usual, the people that think they know it all, know the least.

Who thinks most people will go maskless once Ford drops the mandate in a few weeks time?

Based on those I work with, 95% will drop the masks in public.

Yep there is only a very small portion of people who are pro-vaxx / mask mandates. Most of them are against them and just comply to senseless regulations without understanding that they do NOT have to follow the mandates at all, legally.

How are the righties supposed to debate?

What is left for them after that.

One thing that will remain permanent is masks will be mandatory in hospitals when visiting hospitals and maybe even in Doctors' offices.

Cute Tweet.

You are still arguing a false premise. Ford is managing by the numbers, not the protests.

(for the record, I think the mask think should over too)

To the exclusion of science, or as one input among many?

There seems to be this notion that restrictions are politically motivated.

Seems that they impose restrictions based on science, in spite of the damage in the polls, like grown-ups. Sometimes they remove restrictions based on the polls, in spite of the science.

The only surgeries cancelled were elective. You don’t understand the definition, anyone needing surgery due to life or death continued as normal. If you needed new tits or a new hip it was delayed. Don’t fall for the media.
Colonoscopies are elective. CT scans are elective. Many NECESSARY procedures are “elective.”

Not sure you understand our exchange, if this is your answer. Have a great day.
Some brainless lame ass might fall for your crap. I have SFA interest in proving anything to you. Keep believing masking is your salvation.
Time for PAWG Ford to pull the pin and end the stupid mandates

Guess you are not aware the CDC dropped masking mandates for a vast majority of the States. We have far less cases here yet masking remains. Science means shit. Pure Politics.

But minority not wearing masks poses little treat: as long as majority are willingly follow the recommendations, then mandates are not needed. Or do you think that majority will not wear masks when it will be recommended but not required? If so, then we are not really talking about "caring for others" but "because it is the law"
As has been the case since the beginning, the main purpose of wearing masks is to significantly reduce the velocity of droplets emitted by people with the filtration being a secondary benefit. Any infected people going around without a mask to limit the spread of their droplets creates a risk.

Wearing a mask has some impact on the chance of catching covid but as droplets shrink as they travel through the air; masks to stop from catching other people's covid are less use than masks to prevent sick people from spreading it.

Ontario could drop its mask mandate by the end of March, top doctor says

Asked about when the province intends to drop its masking mandate, Moore wouldn't commit to a firm date but said it could happen by the end of the month.

"We can only mandate masking for so long," Moore said, but stressed that those at higher risk of COVID-19 should continue to wear them after the mandate ends. He also encouraged the public to be considerate of those who continue to wear masks.

The province is moving toward a time when someone who has a positive rapid test is asked to take a PCR test to confirm their infection, he said, but that strategy is not yet in place.

Moore is set to hold his final scheduled weekly briefing on March 10, as key public health indicators continue to improve. After that, Moore will continue to hold COVID-19 announcements "as required," said Alexandra Hilkene, Ministry of Health spokesperson, in a statement last week.
