I prefer that the government act according to epidemiology projections, which they have been doing when they put measures in place. It is delusional to try to retroactively paint the pandemic measures as a narrative now that we're potentially coming out of it. Tell that to all the hospitals that stabbed their nurses in the back and laid off the ones who refused to get vaccinated and are now offering nurses $5000 retention to stay and the fact that most departments are understaffed and overworked especially since most nurses are leaving to the states for better pay. Ask them how their morale is going now.
These mandates should have been removed long ago especially during omicron. You know some people are so afraid that they are like prisoners at home for 2 years, delivering all their groceries and washing them in vinegar and who knows with what other chemicals in paranoia. Many others walk with hand sanitizer in their front pockets thinking this is normal and squirting it every few minutes with nervous energy. Do think they can just get back to normal with some arbitrary number to signal it’s over. Don’t let me get into the kids and what kind of EMOTIONAL damage it has caused which is the real pandemic. How about all the business shut down and lives destroyed and now it’s officially over on March 21. Nice. I guess we celebrate and accept their projections. Gotcha
While I applaud the government for removing them they should have done this long ago.

Premier Doug Ford is discouraging school boards from seeking extensions to the lifting of the mask mandate later this month, telling reporters that trustees “aren’t medical experts” and should simply follow the advice of Ontario’s top health official.
Trustees with both the Toronto District School Board and the Toronto Catholic District School Board have formally asked that the scheduled lifting of the mandate in schools on March 21 be put on hold for an indeterminate period of time amid concerns about the potential spread of COVID-19 as students return from March Break.
But during a press conference in Barrie on Friday, Ford seemed to suggest that he expects all of the province’s school boards to follow through with his government’s plan to lift the mask mandate in less than two weeks’ time.

What kind of legal tools does he have if they refuse to listen and keep being the self proclaimed medical experts?
He needs to come down on them hard. It’s enough already of how much they are destroying our kids with their delusional ideas.
Yet his medical experts and a bunch of hospitals agree with them (not that Ford bothered asking any experts for advice).
Countries like the UK that were one of the first to lift all these restrictions, and their infections plus deaths are beginning to trend upwards once again.
Douggie Boy was like a cry baby when he had to once again implement all the restrictions after he opened it too early last year.
When push came to shove is when he had to shut down the economy once again. The Science Table warned him then. They were 100% right!!

Toronto City Council has voted overwhelmingly in favour of lifting its mask bylaw at the same time as the province.
Toronto’s mask bylaw wasn’t supposed to expire until April 8 but in a report that was considered by city council today, Medical Officer of Health Dr. Eileen de Villa recommended that the bylaw be revoked as soon as the province lifts its mandate.
Council ultimately voted 24-1 in favour of de Villa’s recommendation, paving the way for the bylaw to be scrapped as of March 21 when the province has said that it will remove masking requirements in most settings.

So what. Get use to it. At some point they have to stop posting the numbers so that people like yourself can feel better
If the numbers of infected are 10, 20 30 times higher than being reported due to limited testing and the death rate climbs slightly there is no reason to return to masking, lockdowns and other mandates.
You should get used to the fact that masking will be back, although it could be probably sooner than the November projected time span.
If it was not for the masking, vaccines, social distancing etc, then our death numbers would have spiralled out of control compared to what it currently is. The majority of the Canadians want it done right so that we can have it totally under control and not that shut / open / shut / open.......... thanks to those who just are selfish and do not care for our most vulnerable including our seniors, and others with compromised immune systems!!
