This whole ordeal pretty much reflects the Bergeron era and his strengths and weaknesses.

It highlighted how terrible his drafting /amateur scouting and player development have been. They have had 2 top 5 picks in his time here. Galchenyuk and KK. The non top 10 picks have also been terrible until he finally hit on CC. Galchenyuk and KK regressed in their development.

In.both cases Bergerevin was able to pull off a good trade on the backside . AG for Domi then Anderson. KK for Dvorak. Now none of Domi, Anderson, Dvorak were worth anywhere close to a top 3 pick but it shows how Bergevin is a terrible drafter but generally fairly solid at trades.

But overall Bergevin has had fairly good professional scouting and trades, but very suspect drafting and player development.

Looking ahead. Connor Bedard will be draft eligible in 2023. Wonder who will get first shot at getting him?

This is sport. You root for your team no matter what. Leafs fans are still at it even tho they have not won the cup since fax machine were not yet invented. And it's fine. Should be like that.

I do not care much about the Habs as hockey is not my sport.
