Never fear. I do blame political class in Canada, regardless of their strips, for fucking this to death. But, I'm not going to pretend that I don't see the role China played in this nor WHO for that matter.
I agree with you there. It was China politicians who even jailed doctors who were trying to alert the public to the virus. The Chinese population were the front line casualties from their politician's decisions. The real lunacy is hating people because their great grandparents immigrated from China. I'm proud of Canada when I travel - the last thing I want is to be associated with our dumb ass politicians.

Man Who Randomly Punched Elderly Asian Lady Ends Up in Hospital After She Batters Him With Stick.

"She wanted more of the guy on the stretcher and the police were holding her back."

One elderly lady has had enough of attacks on Asians.

A 76-year-old woman who claimed she was randomly punched on the streets of San Francisco sent her attacker to the hospital after she pummeled him with a stick. Xiao Zhen Xie told KPIX5 she was waiting to cross at a traffic light on Wednesday morning when a man approached her and punched her in the eye.

Speaking through her interpreting daughter Dong-Mei Li, the grandmother said she instinctively grabbed a nearby plank of wood to defend herself, and clocked the stranger in the face.

KPIX Sports Director Dennis O'Donnell happened upon the scene during his morning run, posting video of the aftermath to Twitter.

It shows the sobbing-but-still-standing Xie, clutching bloodied tissue to her face with one hand and brandishing her weapon with the other.

Meanwhile the suspect is carted off handcuffed to a stretcher, blood dripping from his face, wearing an expression that looked like he was worried about another hammering.

"You bum, why did you hit me?" she roars at him in Chinese. "This bum, he hit me."

Nothing. We just ended up here, somehow.
As Robbie Robertson said when he was asked why he always ended up down at Nick's Cafe, "I don't know. The wind just kinda pushed me that way."

I'm not going to go back and see where it started, but as I said before I wouldn't be surprised if someone brought up the Chinese spreading covid as a justification (in a roundabout way) for hating Asians.

And why not? Such is human nature, in many cases, whether you mention the origin of misfortune or not; whether real or not- I should know.

Racism is alive and well in the USA.

Officer who cited spa shooting suspect’s ‘bad day’ has history of anti-Asian posts

A Georgia police officer is facing fierce backlash for his comments about a spa shooting spree that killed eight people, including six Asian women, after he said the murder suspect was having a “bad day.”

Baker’s comments prompted critics to examine his Facebook page, where they found that he had previously shared photos of T-shirts with an anti-Asian slogan written on them.

A post from last April shows several T-shirts with “COVID-19” written on the front, along with a biohazard symbol and a smaller caption that reads “Imported virus from Chy-na.” The shirts used the same font and colour scheme of Corona beer, and appeared to echo former U.S. president Donald Trump‘s anti-China rhetoric about the virus.

the cop's own racial leanings has nothing to do with the shooter's motive.

So what? Maybe you're to young to remember the Simpson trial....

I never said it did. I was merely pointing out that racism is alive and well.

And no, I'm not too young to remember the Simpson trial.

Ok
Why not?
Assuming he had any planning it is possible

If its random its easier for that whole mental defect defence
From the statements he allegedly made to the police, it may have been random which Asian spa he went to first but he clearly chose the targets because of what they were. I don't see much difference between this religious zealot shooting up massage parlours and a religious zealot beheading someone.

I disagree vehemently. The Corona virus raged in China since at least mid fall of 2019. I spent a good chunk of time in a country that suppressed information, but the information did spread, anyway. Good or bad- and that was in the age before cell phones and the internet. To say that the Chinese people were unaware of the threat levels or the dangers, by February 2020, is not only naive, but downright incredible.
So you think that the infected people knew they were infected and knew they were spreading it? Did you miss the whole part of the authoritarian Chinese government who controlled access to information?

There is a huge difference between blaming China's government for their lack of action/transparency and blaming Chinese people who happened to travel while infected. Bullshit like this is exactly why Asians have become a target in North America.

No, the bullshit part is that you believe that, probably, most of the Chinese travellers past January were unaware of the seriousness of the Corona virus. News of deadly threats travels like the wind, government suppression or not. People travel within their own countries, talk to neighbors, some of those neighbours are doctors, nurses, janitors, undertakers, party secretaries, drivers, cops and family of cops. They all have phones, they talk, they spread the news. There's no such thing as a state secret when a mass disaster happens. You cannot hide an event that involves hundreds of thousands of people.

Although not similar, reminds me of the triple murder in the Mirage spa at Warden, just north of Steeles (Denison ave) many years ago.
I'll never forget. I worked not too far from there. I drove by and looked over at the spa as a I drove by the day before the murders happened. I recall thinking that I should check it out sometime because I had never been. I had been to all the others in that plaza multiple times, but never that one because there isn't any cover. You drove straight into the plaza, kept driving straight to the door. The others flanked the left and right sides of the plaza, so I felt like I had some coverage (which was silly now that I think of it. LOL)
A lady, Ruby, at one of the last Asian fuck houses I went to a few years ago in the Fisherville apartments told me that they they were robbed at gun point twice. She was afraid the game was becoming too dangerous. She warned that I should only go to places which had one lady. That way there's no possibility that one of the rooms had a dude with bad intentions. I never forgot those words. I was on my way out of the game when she told me any way...

But I digress.
This fucking murdering fucker is a REAL fucking fucker!!! Fuck him!!! Hope his hole is WIDENED to no end in prison!

Impressive at any age but especially at 76. Good for her

You know, JC. When we start a thread about a white guy who hunts and kills Asian sex workers, why is it that you turn it into a thread about China inflicting disease on other countries.

Are the two issues inseparable in your mind? Do YOU feel angry at Asians about COVID-19?

There is no slur. Unless you think Chicom virus is a slur (which stands for Chinese Communist Party virus).
Had he said Ch*nk virus you would have a case, but he's referring to the Chinese government not the people, which is exactly what I said a few posts ago, dont blame the people, blame their fucked up government
But the tenfold increase in violent assults an Asian Americans has nothing to do with the Chinese Communist Party. It is the stupid racist people fueled by their hero Trump's tasteless and horrible leadership in coining the terms China Virus and Kungflu.
