Did you know the secret path to get from the Eaton Centre to the front of the bookstore without having to go outside?
I did not know that there was one. I lived on Edward Street in the condo at the end. Where was the path?

Great nostalgic thread, so my first post ever. Not a store, but....
Murray's Restaurant. 5 locations in downtown Toronto during the 50's and 60's (also in Montreal and Ottawa).
Frans Restaurants had many locations in Toronto always open late but not the best food.

Toronto
OK, two famous landmarks which I don't think were mentioned:

Shopsy's and the Vic. And Switzers was across the street and Sammy Taft's, the hat man.

The Dundas station southbound platform connects Atrium on Bay to the Eaton Centre. In the bottom floor of Atrium on Bay there's an exit to the street near Timmy's. It's a big bank of doors that you cannot miss. You take the stairs up to Edward Street, which is a fire exit so you cannot re-enter the building. It looks like this on the outside of the building

A friend showed me that shortcut decades ago and I started going that route ever since. It saved a bit of time from having to cross Dundas and walk up Yonge, which is always crowded.

Fran's used to be good, but went downhill the last time I went. The Yonge Street location is only busy because of St Mike's across the street and the theater. A much better option is The Senator at Victoria and Dundas. A higher end option was Superior restaurant on Yonge, which is now a Paramount I think.

This was posted earlier...but I found this gif...lol

There's also Ed's Warehouse next to the Princess of Wales on King and Captain John's at the foot of Yonge. Walked by those places plenty of times, but never went in. There was also the Organ Grinder next door to the Old Spaghetti Factory on The Esplanade.

The World’s Biggest Book Store.

It’s only been gone a few years but it used to be on Elm avenue (Not Elm street Freddie Kruger fans) just near Yonge and Dundas.

Used to love going there.

Now all we have is Indigo and Amazon....and the library.
The World's Biggest Bookstore , Eaton Centre, Queen's Park and a number of other areas around Toronto were immortalized in this classic 80's movie. There is a slight issue with this clip if you look closely and know the neighborhood around the bookstore.
