A team with a history of goons and dirty players since the late 60's. Only team I hate more is Phil.
I don;t really think that applied in the 80's & early 90's, almost every team had a few nasty players in the lineup, but the Bruins were basically defined by guys like Borque, Middleton, Pederson, McNabb, Thelven, Kasper nobody remotely dirty or intimidating there.

Marchand definitely thinks outside the box. If the faceoff was clean columbus would have been playing with a man short a stick.

That backhand stick to the upper chest was vicious. Missed his neck by 6 inches

I am following the Bruin series to see what it takes to beat them. Columbus is certainly living up to their advance billing (physical hockey). (Which we know is not always the case. Just ask Tampa.) One Blue Jacket even got into a fight with Chara.

Never bet against a team with Justin Williams. Carolina (Sweet Caroline) up 2-0.

You do know that Hedman was injured right? I really don't think you do. Imagine Columbus without Seth Jones or Boston without Chara or SJ without Burns.

Been watching a lot of playoff hockey, and I've reached one solid conclusion. The most popular player among all the fans is some Russian player named Refusuk.

I mentioned the Hedman injury in an earlier post. The injury was no secret several games before the playoffs started.

For what it is worth, here are some predictions from another source. So, what you see on paper is not always but you see on the ice.

"Calgary is coming off its best regular-season performance since its last Stanley Cup victory in 1989, racking up 50 wins and 107 points, and sits second to the Tampa Bay Lightning as a strong +800 wager on the Stanley Cup odds."

Lots of sports at the moment. NHL playoffs, Raptors and Blue Jays. It is interesting to go back and see some of the "experts" predictions on April 8th. Guess that is why they play the games on ice and not on paper. I would love to see the Blue Jackets beat the Bruins.

That last Carolina- Islanders game was something else. Wall to wall action, a game of inches with hard hitting and an incredible speed.

I've been following the Bruins-Blue Jackets series. Old fashion hard hitting hockey. The BJ's are impressive. Could have won (or lost) all 3 games.

The Isles look cooked against the Canes, they have a vastly superior defense.

The Bruins top line is being stymied by Boone Jenner's line. He may be the MVP of these playoffs. The Bruins may not win another game against Tortotlone's men.

I wonder if Marchand will try to kiss him?

"Sweet Caroline" The 4th game is the toughest to win.

The Bruins top line is being stymied by Boone Jenner's line. He may be the MVP of these playoffs. The Bruins may not win another game against Tortotlone's men.
I'm watching this series to see what is the template to beat the Bruins.

The two best Bruins players against the Leafs were Charlie Coyle and Brandon Carlo. The Leafs didn't have d - man like Carlo, Muzzin wasn't enough, they needed another defensman like him. The Blue Jackets are a big physical team that can grind it out with Boston, and they are rested.

I looked it up in the draft history, Boone Jenner was picked 37th overall in the 2011 Draft, currently he's the front runner to hoist the Conn Smythe trophy.

Neil Diamond got schmaltzy late in his career, but the ladies always loved him.

Ahhhh, the 2011 draft produced Boone Jenner!
Also Nikita Kucherov, Mark Scheifele and Johnny Gaudreau....

That was the year the Leafs had two first round picks and then-G.M. Brian Burke changed the face of the franchise by taking Tyler Biggs and Stuart Percy, both in the first round.
Funny how Burke frequently boasts on air about drafting Morgan Rielly in 2012 but he never mentions Tyler Biggs.

Neil Diamond: maybe the Leafs can make that their goal song next year.
Either that or something by The Captain and Tenille. Or Tony Orlando and Dawn. Something cool like that.

Tyler Biggs wasn't truculent enough to play a single game in the NHL. Maybe Burkie though he was related to Ronnie Biggs, who robbed a British Treasury train and made off with $ 3.4 million US. That was in the 60's.

To be fair to Burke, Biggs and Percy, the Leafs weren't developing anyone at the time. After Pat Quinn left, Richard Peddie cut the budget for the farm system by 40%.

Vegas was robbed.
A team that is worthy does not let one ref's call be the determining factor.

As well, a team that gives up 4 goals on a 5 minute pp is also not worthy.
