I will respectfully resign from this thread. This discussion isn't what I thought it was and does not seem to be going anywhere I was expecting.

I will say it is somewhat entertaining reading the back-and-forth.

It was a year-over-year increase of 0.15ºC of the 2014 anomaly from the time of the bet.

Frankfooter says 0.74 + 0.15 = 0.83.
I have never said any such thing, its yet another weasel move, an out and out direct lie.
Quote #2 is a lie, and is yet another example of bad denier math and attempts to 'move the goal posts'.
The bet was whether it would hit 0.83ºC.
:biggrin1:

No math is needed, you can keep your broken abacus out of this.

Hey weasel.
Quote #1 is your claim, in which you make up a lie about me.

Quote #2 confirms that you admit that you were lying.

Quote #3 confirms why you lost the bet.

You really are getting worse and worse, you've stopped denying you've lost, stopped trying to raise arguments why you didn't lose and have resorted to idiotic misquotes.
Here, just for your entertainment is a 'moviefan styled' post using the type of out of context quotes you have resorted to:

the "pre-industrial age" refers to the year 1990
NASA and NOAA don't use sea surface temperatures in their calculations of the global temperature anomalies
the ninth month of the year is "March"
0.75 + 0.82 + 0.84 + 0.71 + 0.71 is 0.766 is "denier math"
there wasn't a single month in 2015 that was a record breaker
it's "denier math" and "moving the goal posts."
I'm "lying,"
LMFAO! :biggrin1:

I'm content to honour the bet as we made it.
It was a year-over-year increase of 0.15ºC of the 2014 anomaly from the time of the bet.
NASA said:
Globally-averaged temperatures in 2015 shattered the previous mark set in 2014 by 0.23 degrees Fahrenheit (0.13 Celsius).

That's not NASA.
...now you're faking charts.
Yet another lie from you, claiming that's chart we bet on.
You really are getting worse and worse....
Now you're down to copying and pasting random ... quotes as if they had some kind of point to them.

The Six attempts at 'Moving the Goal Posts' of Moviefan:

#1 - 0.86ºC
The adjusted bet is 0.86 degrees Celsius. Take it or leave it.

You have until the end of Sunday to decide whether or not you are taking the adjusted bet.
#2 - 0.766ºC
That works out to an average for the year of 0.766ºC -- well below 0.83ºC. According to the exact terms that Frankfooter insisted must "stand," Frankfooter lost the bet.
https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthrea...made-up-your-mind-on-climate-change-yet/page8

#3 - 0.89ºC
The 0.74ºC anomaly for 2014 plus the originally agreed-upon year-over-year increase of 0.15ºC equals 0.89ºC.

If you want to propose a revised bet of 0.89ºC, you might get an agreement.
#4 - 0.745ºC and 0.85ºC in the same bad post
And 0.745ºC is nowhere near the IPCC "projection" of 0.85ºC for 2015 (which was derived from the same 1961-1990 baseline, as shown in the Hotwhopper graph).
#5 - Trying to replace the chart specified in the bet with a different chart at a different web address.

Moviefan is down to this:
The bet was based on the IPCC's predictions of temperature increases of 0.2ºC per decade, not numerical changes produced retroactively through changes in methodology.

I have no issue with the data Frankfooter provided.
The Earth only has one temperature.
We bet that the temperature anomaly would increase in 2015 to 0.83ºC
My position will also be that the May 2015 bet stands.
I'm "lying,"

So its down to copy and paste, eh weasel?

You lied, didn't you?
You lied when you said you'd honour the bet.

2015 was the warmest year on record, blasting the number we bet on, 0.83ºC out of the water and hitting 0.87ºC.
You were stupid when we took on the bet, it was an easy bet to take because I knew it was an El Nino year, and a big one, but you didn't.
But instead of manning up and admitting you lost, you just keep lying more and more.
NASA made some changes that went in my favour, my good luck, and you lie and try to cancel the bet.
You then lied and promised you'd keep to the bet but soon were trying to argue that we didn't bet on the chart on the link, but some older version and that we shouldn't include half of 2015's numbers.
Then you tried to argue that the bet between 1995-2015 needed to be changed to 2014's numbers.
And even just this week you went and tried to claim we should use a different baseline for the bet, another attempt at cheating.
You have no class.

You really are a denier, someone who believes in conspiracy theories, can't tell science from bullshit and whose dunning kruger allows them to keep posting on here believing they aren't just making an arse of themselves. You are doing so badly in this argument that you can't even use your own words, you're stuck with kindergarten level attacks of misquotes and bullshit.
That's just sad.

2015's anomaly was 0.87, we bet on whether it would hit 0.83 and you lost.
You are a loser, and not only a loser but a sucker.

You've bought into the oil industry funded disinformation campaign. You parrot statements from dubious sites and claim that scientists and agencies like NASA are 'propaganda'. Yet ignore the lawsuits New York and California have started against Exxon, who did their own climate research and agreed with scientists on their findings then started to spend money on disinformation.
http://insideclimatenews.org/content/Exxon-The-Road-Not-Taken
http://www.slate.com/blogs/future_t...owered_climate_change_denial_for_decades.html

This disinformation campaign is being executed by the same lobbyists who worked for decades for the tobacco industry to make suckers like you believe that cigarettes were good for them, even when they knew they were lying.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_change_denial#Lobbying

You are a loser, a liar and a sucker.

Sigh.

Same old bullshit, eh?
No arguments, no claims, just weasel dicked 'out of context' quotes.

And lets be clear, the bet was on the reported anomaly for 2015, not on 2014.
Pasting two out of context quotes together is incredibly lame, you are arguing like a whiny little toddler.
The bet was very simple and easy, it was a bet on whether 2015's anomaly would hit 0.83ºC.

So lets document, once more, the 6 different times you've tried to cheat the bet, as the denier weasel you are.
First the bet, the very simple and easy bet.

http://climate.nasa.gov/vital-signs/global-temperature/

If that's the chart you're saying will hit 0.83 at the end of 2015, we definitely have a bet.

We bet that the temperature anomaly would increase in 2015 to 0.83ºC

You posted a graph that showed a 0.43ºC anomaly for 1995 and we agreed to bet on whether there would be a minimum increase of 0.4ºC over 20 years.

So we bet on the remaining distance from the original 1995 anomaly of 0.43ºC.

Using your 1995 anomaly as the starting point and the bet of a 0.40ºC increase, tell us what number you get

The bet was based on the IPCC's predictions of temperature increases of 0.2ºC per decade, not numerical changes produced retroactively through changes in methodology.

And then your lame assed weasel moves:
The Six attempts at 'Moving the Goal Posts' of Moviefan:

Weasels will be weasels and deniers will continue to deny.
