This is who Mike Wilner sees on the ALDS roster.

http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/how-will-blue-jays-set-up-alds-roster/

He's been very adamant on the air that if Buehrle is not a starting pitcher he will not be on the post season roster.
There may be a chance that Buehrle gets added on though for sentimental or emotional reasons since he's so popular in the room.

I'm not sure what the reasons are; but, Wilner is convinced that it is impossible for Buehrle to pitch out of the bullpen. He's quite dismissive of the notion in fact even though regular season starting pitchers have become playoff relievers for like a million years in baseball.
He's much better plugged into the nuances of the team than I am since I have a life to live so maybe he knows something.
Over the years though I've observed that a number of things that he has thought are impossible to happen, have happened; so, one never knows until all the cards are flipped over and revealed.

According to Wilner it is highly likely that Osuna, Sanchez, Cecil, Lowe, Hawkins and Hendriks get first 6 bullpen positions and for a seventh position Loup, and Tepera are in the discussion and Buehrle and Schultz are not.
Who gets the seventh slot might come down to who gets the job done in the closing series down in Tampa.

I like Buehrle but Wilner is right here. You want a strikeout pitcher to come out of the bullpen in tight games, you dont want a pitcher like Buehrle who will give up sac flys or ground balls that score runs

For Buehrle start on Fri, I bet they play the A team since he is a contact pitcher and needs good defence to work quickly thru the lineup.
They may sit EE and Martin to give them a bit more rest, but mainly going to be the regulars.

Prob same A team for Estrada's start on Sat.
Then back to B team with Hutch to mop up the season.
JMT.
A-team out tonight. Going for the W.

AND TULO IS IN THE LINEUP!

Buehrle will be on the roster. It's a matter of respect to one of your stalwarts. Baseball tradition mandates that Gibby has to tip his cap to Buehrle's achievements in his career and with the club.

AFA bench players: Cola cannot fucking field. Been there and it didn't work. He's a PH or maybe 1B or DH. Dioner is the backup C. They need a spare IF, a 4th OF. That's Pennington and Carrera. Pompey is a September callup and Carrera has the experience with the big club. The last slot might be filled by Pompey as a PR.

If Tulo gets hurt, they'll have to DL him and add another IF.

Nice analysis.
I'd bet they pick Buehrle over Loup for the last lefty in the pen. Loup has not done much so go with experience.

For the 3 bench guys, I say they pick Penny, Pompey, and Carrera. Cola can play 3B and Josh D can move over to SS in case all hell breaks loose.
You're advocating a throw-together defence with guys learning new positions IN THE PLAYOFFS!!???!!??!! WTF??!!??!!

Even if there's no real place for him??
Buehrle hasnt pitched out of the pen since 2001 (that was the year 9/11 happened btw for reference).

He also throws slow, which is exactly what you dont want in tight ballgames

You obviously haven't figured out the "all hell breaks loose" scenario. It's OK, you never will.

And for all of you critics of my picks, go ahead, man up and put your picks out there. Stop whining like little bitches behind your big keyboard.

Wait a sec, you just agreed with my 5 bench picks.

A mystery solved.

There's someone in the dugout lately that's remained unaccountable. He's appeared on camera getting in on big hit celebrations but his identity remained unknown, until now.

It's Mike Saunders - remember him?

Cola cannot play third. DH and first is about it.

You're digging up stats from 14 years ago?? How many relief appearances has he made between the year 2001 and 2015, which would be a lot more relevant to the point FrankU was making???
Zero.
Frank said Buehrle had never pitched in relief.
He has, 25 appearances in 2001.

I don't believe I stated anywhere that it had any relevance to this year's ball club.
