I agree with Zauno.

The extended rest that David Price has been assigned to could hurt in the playoffs and he cited valid examples. If Buehrle gets his 200 innings on Sunday, Price should get some innings as well just to keep him sharp. Now is not the time to run the risk of him coming out sluggish in the playoffs. Apart from that I won't discuss numbers with the lot of you, although it does make for interesting reading. I'm enjoying this run too much to bother with statistics.

Rogers nearly shit the bed, they wanted to fire both Beeston and AA at the end of last season. Their strategy had not come to fruition and that calamity was ever present. Luckily they took their collective heads out of their fartholes and here were are! For the future health of the Jays, I hope AA and Mark Shapiro do a sit down before the playoffs start.

Let the playoffs begin!

I have no doubt that Walker and Gibby had extensive conversations with Price about this. And I have no doubt they listened to his point of view on it. He will be throwing BP. Real BP(his nasty stuff). He will throw side sessions. I look at it as he is over 200 innings and we don't need the wins absolutely.

Maybe if they Start Buerle on Sunday they give him a couple as well s.ince it's in the Trop.

But either way I'd rather err on the side of caution. It's a long post season.

This would be a nice touch to let Price pitch in front of his original team. But, anything can happen when they take the field; a hard comebacker to the mound or wrench a knee covering 1st base, and he's done before the playoffs. A freak injury like Tulo's can happen anytime.

Greg Zaun is an idiot;
* he think Trout wins MVP because of a higher WAR over JD.
* says Buehrle should start in the playoff rotation "because you go home with the girl that you take to the dance" WTF!?!?
* implying Stoman should be a left off the rotation cuz he's just a johnny-come-lately

Yeah, it's good to have former players to give inside perspective, but he's an idiot and a sham. I'm sorry, he needs to go.

So math geniuses, correct me if I'm wrong but we only have to win 1 more game, and KC has to win their remainders for us to clinch.

Am I right, or am I wrong??
They are tied so the Jays just need to match what KC does to clinch.

I most egregiously disagree ultistar, catchers by their very nature are not idiots. And until Russell Martin joined he was in the top three of the best catchers in Jays history, Pat Borders and Benji Molina are the others. And he has a World Series Ring, so how much of an idiot can Greg Zaun really be? Granted I don't agree with some of his opinions, dead wrong on Stro, but he's earned the right to voice them.

There is no tougher position in sports to play. Remember this, I do like it was yesterday. Ouch!

There are several of you here on TERB who respond in that kind of way to anyone who disagrees with them...

I wonder: who are the real idiots?

In defence of Rogers, AA and Beeston's strategy for the first few years failed. It was only this year they changed their strategy to presumably save their jobs. Out went the "prospects" in came veterans who could do the job now.

Hey Perry,

Nice cut and paste job. I notice you cut out the 3 examples (among many) of why I disagree with Zaun and think he is an idiot.
YOU on the other hand just resort to attacks.
Like the pot calling the kettle black.

A tip for you AK from someone who can no longer drink beer. If you're going to drink cocktails stick with a clear alcohol and a sugar free mixer, less chance of getting sloppy and you have a good chance of evading a hangover. These days I stick to gin and tonic.

For the love of A-Roid! The mightiest of all ornithologists may hit 40 homers yet.

I realize that it really does not matter much at this point, however my only concern is Osuna as the closer. I feel more comfortable if Cecil or Lowe are out there.

That being said, I do not care of they have home field advantage. I like the fact that they have home field advantage for the first round as it is a 2-2-1 split. For round two, if KC survives, it is a 2-3-2 split. Split the first two then you have three at home.

Hopefully Buehrle gets a shot at two innings tomorrow.

You won't be saying that if he chokes during the playoffs.
It's the nature of baseball. Blown saves happen. It's only his second of the year and only the 3rd of the entire season for the jays. I'd rather them expierence a hiccup now, instead of next thurs or beyond.

For the record..Cecil was given his shot and didn't shine. Situational lefty and late relief has fit him well and he's excelled nicely. You can't screw with the rotation now. They all have their roles and responsibilities now.

I believe 3 blown saves, plus 6 losses.
