Add in the cold, wet weather!I am worried that a double header might disrupt the pitching rotation. The players may find it a little tough too.
Hope all goes well! Go Jays Go!
IMO they need to win the AL title. That home field advantage may be critical for the Jays. Don't go to the bench until home field is in the bag!Add in the cold, wet weather!
OTOH, the clinch is to likely happen today. Two chances against O's. Plus, Yanks floundering against the Sox.
Tomorrow (or maybe even this evening), we can yank out our regulars, start Hutch and coast towards the playoffs.
Home field is just 1 extra game against 1 potential adversary (KC). Not sure if it's worth risking injuries and burn out to the stars to get that.IMO they need to win the AL title. That home field advantage may be critical for the Jays. Don't go to the bench until home field is in the bag!
Frig it isn't that long ago a wild card spot was the target!
If you mean the starters, only Stroman is disrupted, and it's only his 4th start this year, so he'll be fine. As far as the relievers go, there's so many guys in the 'pen right now that no one will be overworked. Plus they had an expected day off yesterday. My concern is what kind of shape they'll be in for the second game if they win the first one. No doubt there will be some Bud Light consumption between gamesI am worried that a double header might disrupt the pitching rotation. The players may find it a little tough too.

First round (ALDS) is 5 games.Last year in the playoffs the team that didn't have home field advantage won 7 out of 9 series played; so, what home field advantage means is up in the air.
Wonder what the stats are over the last 20 years.
Question: are the ALCS and NLCS championship series 7 games or 5.
And if 7 is it 2-2-1-1-1 or is it still 2-3-2.
I think if they win the first game, yes the celebration between games will be low key only because they have another game in a half hour. Not sure how many regulars play the second game, but pretty sure that it will be the best of Buffalo playing the game tomorrow afternoon (and for those that don't know yet, Thursday has been moved to noon hour because of approaching weather). My guess is the celebration will be fairly low key if they win the first game. I think they ARE focussed on first overall-yes it's one game difference, but that could be big. It also lets them start at home, which is an advantage. Momentum is a big factor in the playoffs. I also don't think they will risk silly injuries by not being ready to play. May be a good rest game, but that would likely happen to some degree anyway with the twinbill. David Price didn't come here to win the division, he wants to win a world series.
I haven't seen a huge disparity in performance in the Jays at home or on the road. The stats are skewed, but a lot of that comes from bad road trips before the All Star break, when it was a far different team.Last year in the playoffs the team that didn't have home field advantage won 7 out of 9 series played; so, what home field advantage means is up in the air.

Unfortunately, the Orioles have to show up and play the 2nd game. Because they look dead on the field right now. Jays are not celebrating in the clubhouse when the first game is done. They will wait for the celebration after the doubleheader is completed. Then, Tulo will flight out to TB by himself to get ready for the final regular season games against TB.There's more Blue Jay fans in attendance than Oriole fans....Lol
Don't worry, you will get your chance to say those things again in about..2 years! When they failed to bring home the WS! You missed one as well...fire AA!!!!!!!!!!!FIRE GIBBONS, FIRE WALKER, FIRE RIVERA, GET RID OF PILLAR..........ok, I was wrong......got tickets for game 2 of the Div. Series
