Found myself listening to the Yankees radio broadcast as I was out this afternoon.
They were talking Argonauts and wondered where they played their home games,
if they was still at Exhibition Stadium?

Read yesterday though that this time last year Jays were 10 games over 500, and top of the East. Didn't last long though did it so let's hope they don't suffer a similar fate with injuries to key players. That would be cruel.

Yes, last year, they had identical 60-52 records after 112 games and 2.5 games back in the division. They only went on to win 23 more of their final 50, which would make many Jays fans suicidal if that happened again this year. By the end of August, they were 69-67, 10.5 back.

This is the final proof - as if any was needed - that Gibby is the best manager in MLB today. Most managers would have benched Smoak and used EE at 1B. Gibby knew in advance that Smoak was due for a big AB and kept him in the line-up. Gibby is a genius.

And imagine the people here calling for Gibby's head if he managed like Girardi (highly regarded) did today. Nova looked shaky loading the bases (two walks) and Girardi had a reliever warmed and ready to go. Yet he left Nova in to face Smoak.

And for the complaints that he doesn't stand up for his players, Gibbons got ejected for doing just that.

Regardless, there's still the serious problem of him being too laid back.

And has anybody noticed how great a pitching coach Pete Walker has been since the All-Star break. Jays staff putting up some league leading numbers.
