Yes, they have been playing really well. Pitching is hugely better with all the changes that have been made - still have my doubts about Loup though. We have gained 4 games on NYY and 3 over O's in the last ten games.
NYY sends out Ivan Nova, their ace with a 3.10 ERA today. Should be another tough game.
I thought that Sunday was a Hutchinson start, but it is Estrada against Tanaka who has a 3.84 ERA. The notes mention that Tanaka is prone to give up the long ball.
LAA won last night over O's. So LAA still holds the 1st WC by 0.5. They are also 1.5 behind the Astros. I think that LAA will overtake the Astros as soon as LAA shakes their current slump and starts winning again.
In some ways I agree with you but they have won 6 straight and if it ain't broken don't fix it!good to see them win a game like that. It is time to put Revere on lead off and put Tulowitzki fifth.....would have made a difference in the first....better protection for EE and pushes weaker bats further down
Here's my prediction:
The Jays will catch and pass the Yanks by the end of the month (I'd go as far as say bye the 16th). They'll hold the lead for the rest of the season, taking the division by at least 4 games (by the final weekend they'll have clinched). I'll go one further and say the Yanks and Orioles will either finish with the same record, or Baltimore will also pass them.
Its been explained a few times already by Nad Smith and AK.would love to hear what you know about win/loss records
Revere as the lead off and Tulo 5th makes sense to me as well. Tulo has yet to hit his stride. OTOH, he can provide protection for EE. Revere is hitting quite well and is currently more productive than Tulo at the plate. In some ways I agree with you but they have won 6 straight and if it ain't broken don't fix it!![]()
Gibbons deserves a mention alright, he's a lazy fuck. Some of the those ump calls were ridiculous, he should have been out there arguing on his players' behalf. Particularly the Donaldson 3rd strike call which was half a foot inside.Good win tonight , Defense and pitching was solid all around.
Gibbons deserves a mention , forcing the Skanks to use up their best relievers early.
Dickey keeps on rolling with another good start, very few hard hit balls off him tonight.
Price goes tomorrow !
There is something fishy in Denmark. These ridiculous ump calls have been ongoing for several games now. Remember that opposing player batter who hit the ball twice, once with the bat and again with his knee? Some of the those ump calls were ridiculous,
Smoak is slumping, but Gibby has taken my advice and used him at 1B for his defence. This lets them use Eddie as DH and Colabello as an effective PH.They got Revere to lead off and play left.....and after a slow start at the plate, he has been very good. Replay the first inning from last night. Tulo a man with power is hitting lead off.....doesn't want to make an out on first pitch or second...eventually hits a long fly ball to the warning track in left. Then with men on second and third and only one out, Smoak does not deliver in an rbi situation .....Smoak does have power, but if Tulo hits the same fly ball that he hit, he brings home a run.....in short, Tulo better there than Smoak (or Cola...but emphasis on defence leaves Cola on bench)....now you have Smoak and Martin hitting 6 and 7...and Pillar now hits ninth (anyone one remember when he last got an rbi or even an extra base hit?). When the Jays are crushing the ball like they did on home stand, line up doesn't matter as much..but in a tight game it can make a difference. Expect tight games against Yankees...bat Revere first, Tulo fifth
Automatic ejection for arguing balls & strikes.Gibbons deserves a mention alright, he's a lazy fuck. Some of the those ump calls were ridiculous, he should have been out there arguing on his players' behalf. Particularly the Donaldson 3rd strike call which was half a foot inside.
I swear this team would be in 1st right now if we had a competent bench boss. Gibbons is a joke.
Its been explained a few times already by Nad Smith and AK.
I'd explain it again, but you probably still wouldnt get it
