Doubt it, due to the price differential. There's more than enough to chow down; it's just that dinner and weekend/holiday selection has more specialty items.Has anyone ever been at lunch time on a saturday? Is it the same selection for food at dinner time?
I seem to recall that some of their higher-cost items are AWOL... crab legs etc.
+1This. The lunch has fewer items like the crab legs and maybe even the prime rib. I'm not a fan of Mandarin.
Try Imperial Buffet instead.
And snot from little kids, people hacking up puss on the food...Mandarin =Food poisoning.
Try Imperial Buffet instead.
I was at the Ajax Imperial Buffet for dinner this past weekend, the selection and quality didn't seem as good as it used to be in the past. The Mandarin near Wonderland at lunchtime on a weekday has a very good selection and quality of food. The Imperial Buffet in Ajax is way better than the one in Scarborough. Tried both locations several times for both lunch and dinner. Scarborough location disappoints each time, Worse than Mandarin @ Birchmount.
Sounds like the definition of consistency. The Imperial Buffet Scarborough location disappoints each time,
There is a sister restaurant of Dragon Pearl. At dinner time, Dragon Legend near Woodbine and Highway 7 is also very good. Mandarin is nothing compare to Dragon Pearl or Dragon Legend.dragon pearl at don mills and york mills, very upscale asian buffet imo. expensive on the weekends though ~30 a head. lobster is not all you can eat though they give you ticket per person for it, you get a tail and claw with that ticket.
