What do the top ten picks look like for the NHL draft ?
Teenage hockey players for the most part.

If what I've read is correct, it's a fairly deep draft.

I do not see this post above. Did you make it up or did he erase it ?

If you want to know what Guyroch(aka Bargnani) will post next just see what I post and he will post the same message with a few tweaks.

The Leafs may not win the lottery but the lower they draft the more chances they can move up and get the 1st overall pic ..

If they do not win the lottery, they may move up but there is no way that they'll get 1st overall unless a deal is made.

What this leafs team really need is defence and toughness.
Wait a minute ...
er ...
ah ...

I cannot argue with that.
I think that will happen over the summer, Burke and Carlyle are similar hockey guys.

Leafs need a lot of things, that has become all too obvious. They need a go to defense man, Phaneuf ain't the guy. Goaltending keep 1 youngster and find a veteran, a couple of gritty wingers that can do more than fight, a top line center/forward. I think you may see a couple of players that had their confidence shaken, maybe destroyed by Wilson turn it around. I really think Schenn, Kadri and the two goalies were lost under him. There may be others that will pick their games up too.
Take the win against Jersey and Brodeur, tonight it's the Rangers, lets see how that goes.

Leafs lose in shoot out, get a point, but even when they were up 2-0, I did not think they played as well as they could. They are not getting much from the top players, but the goalies seem to be coming around. Not Stanley Cup worthy goalies yet(maybe never), but closer to what they were in the first half lately and that would have been good enough for a playoff birth.

My opinion and my list of what Burke should focus on this summer.
In order;
1. Top line Center. Ideally should be over 6' and 200lbs+, perferably Canadian born ... see Ryan Getzlaf. :thumb:
2. Top six scorer(s). Nash comes to mind, Parise(USA, yes I know, but he is a FA) would be OK. Big guys ... the bigger, the better.
3. A veteran goalie who would not mind starting 30 games or less, but capable of more, and is willing to help/teach a young goalie.
4. Change some defencemen. Definitely hang onto Gardiner and try to hang onto Schenn, but everyone else can go. Not going to be able to change all the remaining D, but it would be nice.

One trade deadline deal that absolutely drives me nuts is Cody Hodgson for Kassian. I think Cody would be great for the Leafs - he is 6' and 185 but he is just 22 and could fill out a little more. The Canucks were looking for sandpaper and for all the noise about truculence we could not find something more than Kassian. I see Hodgson as an undervalued asset - a lock at second line and maybe even first line in time. This is where a great GM gets creative - maybe brings in a third team. Buffalo could have a star on their hands and a great replacement for Derek Roy - they can use his cap space to fill another need. Buffalo got stronger and Toronto will have to battle them for a playoff spot.

I look at this deal similar to the Rasmus deal with the Blue Jays. Rasmus has a ton of talent and could be a star - the Jays did not give up too much to get him. I respect Anthopouls for taking the chance.

Blue and White disease is not the entitlement of the players, it is management relying too much on free agents.

why would parise want to play in toronto if the fans have this attitude?
+1
The reason no one of consequence ever wants to play in Toronto.
Why would you?
When you could play in the US for the same $$$ where most NHL hockey is nothing but a minor league.
