Time to blow it all up and start over. Jake Gardiner is the only guy I wouldn't make readily available (but would move him if the right offer comes along). I wouldn't want to deal Kessel but given he's your best asset, he has to be.

I did not see the fight. Komisarek should not have tangled with Lucic, it is that simple.
Reimer should not have started and yes it was clearly a mistake to go into any season with two untried goalies.
This team cannot play a Carlyle style.

Reimer ain't the GUY at the moment! I thought he should have gone to the minors to play himself into game shape and build his confidence after the hit. The talent may still be there but the confidence is gone.

Boston game was a joke for the Leafs! Schenn had a minor tilt with Campbell, no decision there. Komisarek and Lucic, bad move on Koms part, he lost badly.
It just shows how strong the Bruins are and how far the Leafs have to go to get better.
I believe the east will come away with the cup this year. Rangers, Philly, Penguins, Bruins are all big strong and skilled. They can beat you inb more ways than one.
Leafs are years behind I'm afraid.
Here is a problem, the Leaf's two best players cannot dominate a game like a Crosby, Oveckin, Malkin, etc. Kessel, despite his 36 goals can't dominate a game. Also, he is on the ice for a lot of goals against.

Can I add insult to injury by saying that the Leafs . The Leafs' gave up 7th overall pick -- along with conditional other draft picks -- to the New York Islanders for their 5th overall selection . So they could have had Karlson . Hind sight is 20/20 though
True, but have the Leafs ever drafted an NHL calibre player? Kadri is a star ---- in the AHL. Luke Schenn is more overrated than Phaneuf. Luke is slow, can't stickhandle and useless on offense.
I think it's because the Leafs have so little 1st round pics cause they keep trading them away and so everytime we draft one ( and it's rare ) the prospect is put under the microscope ) . If we had kept our draft pics after Schenn and Kadri maybe Schenn and Kardir would have had less eyes on them and have less presure to be the savior .
Before there was Schenn and Kadri there was Colavecchio , Alexander Steen and Jiří Tlustý .
