I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes. Will Kadri ever score an official NHL goal?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes. Will Kadri ever score an official NHL goal?
I didn't say when. The question was "will he ever score?"We're waiting.
You'll have to wait until he gets called back up.We're waiting.
If Kadri does score an official NHL goal what team will he be playing for?Darryl Boyce scored an official NHL goal in his second NHL game. Will Kadri ever score an official NHL goal?
Boston! Assisted by Tyler Seguin and their '11 first round pick (whoever he might be) in OT against Toronto to boot the Leafs out of the playoffs for the 9th straight year.If Kadri does score an official NHL goal what team will he be playing for?
Calvin, stop eating out of Hobbes' box.Boston! Assisted by Tyler Seguin and their '11 first round pick (whoever he might be) in OT against Toronto to boot the Leafs out of the playoffs for the 9th straight year.
Traded for Marc Savard. lol Hell, they've already got our '10 and '11 first round pick they might as well have our '09 too...........
*DING*DING*At their current pace, the Leafs could have two 30 goal scorers (Kessel and Grabovski) and three 20 goal scorers (MacArthur, Versteeg and Kulemin) by season's end. That would be good for any team to have five 20 or more goal scorers.
So here lies the key...he was allowed to develop. Pogge was taken in the 3rd round, but was supposed to be a savior because he played a mediocre tournament for Canada at the World Juniors. Well guess what...so did Trevor Kidd.Who is James Reimer I ask ... He was drafted in 2006 and since then I have been sold on so many goalies being the answer Andrew Raycroft, Mikael Tellqvist, Jean-Sebastien Aubin, Vesa Toskala, Jonas Gustavsson, and Jean-Sebastien Giguere, and this guy comes along under the radar ... This guy was sent down to ECHL cause Leafs kept on trading or signing guys and he sank in the depth chart and under the radar he has developed his game ... A fourth round draft pic that we proably ignored cause we were all paying attention to Jiri Tlusty ... Also a rade that went ingnored on that day cause JFJ was trading for Raycroft was a trade was to exchange picks with Chicago. The Leafs received the 99th and 111th picks from the Blackhawks for their 76th overall pick. With that pick we drafted Reimer ...
Thanks tips. I, unlike most, am a REALISTIC Leafs fan. I am not discounting Reimer's ability, but he is not the Messiah that will lead us to the promise land. He COULD develop into a key piece of the puzzle, just like Potvin did, but he will not win a championship on his own.Reimer is no the savior ??? Why not I say ... And that is coming from a Leaf fan who is negative about the situation but I say why not .. This guy isn't just a hot goalie for a week ... Last year he out played Joey MacDonald but Joey got the call ups and the bulk of the games ( 36 ) but Reimer in 26 games out played him 2.25 .925 SAA and this year in AHL he was player of week and was hot with a .925 and 7-3 in 10 games ... Jonas Hiller was undrafted and without hype went to AHL and dominated and then carried it over to NHL ... Not every savior has hype associated with their name ..
A rookie goalie is like a rookie pitcher, will the shooters find his weak spots? Time will tell. Before any goalie achived greatness they were once just like Reimer a AHL product who excelled at the AHL level and then were given a NHL opportunity ...
Jonas Hiller played six games in AHL and went 3-2-0...I wouldn't really classify that as a domination of a league. Hiller actually developed in the Swiss League before being brought over by Brian Burke. If anything, you can compare his story to that of Lunqvist or Gustavsson - with the exception that Hiller was brought to a good team to adjust to the NHL, unlike Gustavsson that entered with a team that was a hot mess.... Jonas Hiller was undrafted and without hype went to AHL and dominated and then carried it over to NHL ... Not every savior has hype associated with their name ..
What I'm trying to say is that ONE player will rarely drastically change a team in the long term. He becomes an intricate piece of a larger puzzle. If you are talking about a Brodeur or Roy or Belfour or Miller or Hasek, then you are talking about a goalie that can single handedly INSTANTLY improve a team. Outside of that small group (with maybe room for a few others), it's a daunting expectation to have a goalie carry you for a long time. Why can't Reimer be the Messiah for the Leafs ... Before any goalie achived greatness they were once just like Reimer a AHL product who excelled at the AHL level and then were given a NHL opportunity ...
If Leaf management had been half way decent. JFJ was then, Burke is now.Too bad John Ferguson gave away a first round pick to get Vesa Toskala from San Jose.
San Jose traded the Leaf pick plus gave away something like a 3rd round draft choice to move up 2 spots in the draft to make sure they got Logan Couture. If Leaf management was half decent they could have done exact same thing.
