Who cares if they make the playoffs ? other than the fact that Boston will get a lesser draft pick as a result, they won't go anywhere if they do make it.

I am most happy with the fact that Boston wont be getting another high pick. Screw the bruins. And if leafs do make the play off you never know they might make a good run you know. Montreal last year made a decent run and they had finished 8th.

Another great game tonight.

The game winning goals the last 2 nights were fabulous efforts.

Leafs are now 6 points out of a playoff spot. They would need 17 more wins out of the 24 games remaining to get to 90 points which should be enough to get into the playoffs.

If they started using Reimer in October instead of January, they'd be in a playoff slot right now.

I remember it, Buffalo had played here that evening, he was on his way back and went off the road and crashed in his Pantera.
He hadn't slept much & was on pain killers. He liked to drive fast & likely fell asleep at the wheel.

They had no reason to start Reimer in October. Most people didn't even know who Reimer was. Many probably would have thought someone with that name was a male porn star.

Even though i like Reimer very much, people should reserve judgement until they've seen him over an entire season. Heck, Andrew Raycroft once looked like a phenom in his first season with the Bruins. We all know the rest.

Are the Leafs planning to bring Kadri back up again this year?
Nazem Kadri will not be back with the Leafs this season & that's a good thing. If you look at what Montreal did with Max Paccioretti, sending & keeping Kadri in the minors is the best thing that could happen for him. He needs to work on some things & gain some confidence in the minors before getting full-time duty with the big team. Last season, Paccioretti was a lost soul out there on the ice. Then sent him down, there were complaints by many in the media about this, but after being called-up this season, he's a monster. Patience is a virtue.

Even if they do get into the playoffs, the odds in favor of them advancing are very slim. Sure, it would be nice for a change. However, Burke is doing the right thing by dumping excess bodies in return for young prospects & draft picks. No more sacrificing the future with this team.

By the way, didn't Phil Kessel look great last night? He's been unbelievable over the past 5 games. Anyone who thinks Tyler Seguin will be a better player than Phil Kessel needs to be lobotomized!

Leafs win! Kessel nets 2. They are now 12 points ahead of last year at this time. 4 points from a playoff spot.

Tyler Seguin 59GP 10G 11A 21PTS (2nd overall 2010 draft)
Taylor Hall 61GP 21G 19A 40PTS (1st overall 2010 draft)
Phil Kessel 61GP 25G 19A 44PTS (5th Overall 2006 draft)

Looks like Taylor Hall is on pace to be better than Kessel. Tyler Seguin is on pace...well he is only 19 years old and time will tell if he will be better than Kessel. But for now Kessel is a proven goal scorer that Leafs need to get going with a number one centre.

The Leafs should finish as high in the standings so that Boston doesn't get a top 5 pick. If the Leafs make the playoffs they would get hammered by the Flyers but the playoff experience would be good for the youngest team in the NHL.

Last year Montreal and Philly made it at 7 and 8 place respectively but had quite a run in the playoffs. If Leafs do make it to the playoffs anything is possible YES its a long stretch but hey weirder things have happened in the universe lol
