I think if you think about this using terms like “have game” when talking about communicating with women, you may be behind the 8 ball already, so to speak.
I think young men have as much, or more, “game” as any prior generation.
But less of an arena In which to play the game.
All the advantages have moved to young women in western civilization.
And they have stepped up to take advantage of it. And many of them know that money is a needed fuel. If you ever talk to young women, it is simply amazing how much they travel in groups for regular vacations and bachelorette parties. Big bucks are required.
Advantageous for Johns and for guys who insist on having some sort of relationship (I agree with those that say it is an ATM relationship, but that is just my opinion).
I simply don‘t understand how anyone can expect a young man who has not accumulated resources to give them what they want.
It used to be a different world. High school girls were very confined and taught to look up to male athletic success. There were pep rallies and such. That mentality extended on into their 20s. Now the high school teen likely goes to a job where she interacts with older, wealthier people who intrigue her. She may not even attend a single sports game, and if she does, she is just as likely to go to the girl’s sports game.
Once upon a time in college, she was expected to major in something that would allow her to get married and have babies. Now she can, and does, major in anything she wants. At one time, she would have had no resources and all of her interactions would have been with other college students. Now she works and interacts with older and wealthier people, and she can even join Seeking for free with her college email credentuals.
This same trend continues through her first few jobs. She has freedom and success and can get money, directly or indirectly, from that valuable patch of real estate between her legs. I don’t begrudge her certainly, I just don’t see what the hell it has to do with young men. The thought of going on a quaint free date with a guy her age probably never crosses her mind, even if he was a letterman in high school. How is this his fault?
And as I have said many times, the old guy on boards like this who thought he had so much game, really didn’t. The women just had fewer life choices that were confined to guys her age and in her orbit. She didn’t have a cell phone, or certainly not one connected to the internet.
Strangely enough, it is starting to show up in U.S. politics this year. There is this emphasis on tarriifs and reducing immigration that would presumably raise wages for young men in manual labor jobs. And a desire to cut certain administration jobs dominated by women college graduates. And a lot of insults directed at single women who enjoy per ownership, especially of the feline persuasion. It isn’t too difficult to figure out what those politicians are aiming for. At least they don’t belittle the younger men, but that may be because they want their votes.
