The Dutch came out yesterday with an early goal but were on their heels after that. Ecuador are a sneaky good side - young, skilled and aggressive. Which is why I called them for 2nd in the group over Senegal.
A bit surprised with the AUS-TUN result earlier this morning. I had AUS finishing last in their group.
It was nice to see Lewandowski finally get a WC goal. No surprise on that result.
Looking forward to the next match Denmark vs. France. Go Danes!

Neither team made any goals. That is the whole purpose of the game. So you cannot say any of them were good.

The WC has a severe shortage of good strikers. Passing the ball around for 90 minutes does not win games.
Overall I'd agree their are far fewer world class strikers in this tournament. But if you look at goals scored so far, its close to the pace set in 2018.

2018: 169 goals scored in 64 matches. Avg 2.64 goals per match
2022: 52 goals in 21 matches. 2.48 goals per match.

Italy won Euro 2020 just last year, playing exciting attacking football. How are they minnows???
I'm Italo/Canadian, I'm allowed to make fun of the Azzurri pescillini.

Robert Lewandoski goal poacher excelsior - how many goals has he scored like that.

This time the Polish coach got his tactics right, Zielinski is a trequartista, not a striker. They are distributing by committee, it worked this time. On paper the current Polish Selects are superior to the 1982 edition, just imagine how scary good they would be if they had Andrzej Buncol running the show. Wow what a difficult name to spell, by saving the penalty Wojciech Szczesny lifted his club. At Juventus Mattia Perrin is supposed to be the goalie of the future - he'll have to content himself with playing Europa League matches.

I hope Mexico crushes Argentina.

Have to keep an eye out for our two hot commentators Lindsay Hamilton and Janine Beckie on TSN 🧡 💚💛:

I think that Lindsay is such a cutie. The most sparkling eyes I have seen. Too bad that that's not a great picture of her.

OMG !!!

Search begins for England’s own Ivana Knoll – Croatia’s sexy World Cup fan

SCORE blimey! Croatian Ivana Knoll is definitely in the knock-out stage of the World Cup after being dubbed its sexiest fan.

Pictures of the 30-year-old cheering on her national team against Morocco have stunned supporters worldwide.

Ivana has legions of fans on TikTok and has been heating up the winter World Cup in Qatar.

Her racy outfit risked breaking the host country's strict modesty laws.

But The Sun is certain England can do better — and launching Operation Fit’s Coming Home.

So if you’re in striking form, send us your pictures of yourself in an England strip.

Arrogant' USA star Weston McKennie wipes 'sweaty hands' on photographer's bib

USA and England were engaged in a 0-0 World Cup yawn-fest when midfielder Weston McKennie set tongues wagging with 'arrogant' and 'disrespectful' behaviour pitch-side

USA star Weston McKennie has been slammed as “arrogant” after wiping his “sweaty hands” on a photographer’s bib during the[URL='https://www.dailystar.co.uk/latest/world-cup'] World Cup
clash with England.

The midfielder went to take a throw-in before half-time of the evenly-fought contest. But he first bizarrely approached an elderly pitch-side photographer, before wiping his hands on the man’s bib seemingly without consent.

McKennie then nonchalantly turned around to take his throw, leading fans on social media to slam the 24-year-old Juventus man for his behaviour.

One Twitter user wrote: “The boy McKennie drying his hands on the photographer’s bib is one of the most arrogant things I have seen anyone do.“

Another fan commented: “Eww, McKennie did not just rub his sweaty hands on a photographer, disgusting.”

Mbappe for Prez !! He's always at the right spot at the right time. You think France may win this for a second time in a row ?? Mmmm I'm thinking its possible. But there is still Brazil Spain and England. We'll see what happens today with Argentina..

I agree but I think Argentina can still come back...
I doubt it, I'm watching the end of the first period and I can't see Argentina going anywhere. Even if they win against Mexico, they won't win against the English, Brazil .

I don’t altogether agree with you about that, they have their ways, including referees

That was depressing (France Denmark). Denmark has no forwards, the only goal In two games made by a centre back.

Denmark played a mini-version of what Jose Mourinho called "parking the bus." Which is to defend and look for counter attacks because the other side has too many attacking options. It took the brilliance of Mbappe to defeat that strategy.

I think this strategy inevitably will fail, because Denmark lacks world class strikers.
The only goal Denmark got, was when they threw caution away after France scored.
You do not win football games by passing the ball around on your own half of the pitch.
It was depressing to watch. I have seen them play a lot better, they beat France twice earlier this year.

Exciting football lol. They played for a tie and went through the tournament winning on penalties only.
That's a matter of perspective, Italy could repeat as Euro Champions with a younger and faster Azzurri.

With Olivier Giroud logging heavy minutes for France Mlan will probably bring back Lorenzo Colombo to the parent club. Some football experts call him Rombo di Tuono II. Like the original Rolling Thunder (Gigi Riva), he has a cannon for a left foot.

Observe:

Sure they could, if they star winning some games
