Morocco upsetting Belgium at moment, 1-0 , 74th min., amazing free kick near the corner , just cuuuuurled in at near post!!, caught goalie off guard , like a called 3rd strike slider.
It is the World cup of the Arabs.

They are crazy about football in Morocco. The times I have been there, I always watched games in the hotel bar.

Costa Rica defeating Japan 1-0 earlier this morning was a surprise after they got pasted 7 to nil by Spain a few days ago.

Not surprised by the Belgium upset, they didn't play well against Canada either. That second goal was amazing, having said that I don't think Courtois played very well.

You snooze you lose is the theme of the WC so far. Slow, passive passing style like Belgium will be overrun by aggressive fast paced style like Morocco. The only exceptions so far are Canada, who didnt take their chances against Belgium, and Japan against Costa Rica.

The first goal was his fault, should have seen it coming. That being said the Belgians were outplayed, the 67% possession stat is quite deceiving.

It was a winnable game (may be in hindsight),
possession football doesn't win games.

It's highly hypocritical, London has been the laundromat for despots for decades. Now due to Brexit, Mohammed bin Salman gets to own a club. They can take a knee all they want, it's an empty gesture.

Dane cheer up, remember your neighbours to the east aren't in Qatar. Not even The Great Zlatanissimo could work his magic to get Sweden qualified. And lets not even start on Norway. Currently the two most exciting players (Haaland, Kravatskhelia) sit at home and rest.
We are now in the modern era. The UK has a PM of colour. Taking the knee is about the players themselves. A very high percentage of players are of colour, and they deserved to be treated equally and to stand up with those of similar ethnicities that have been mistreated and lost their lives in recent times. This is also about inclusivity!!

Remember that the Russian Oligarchs owned Chelsea for decades. That was prior to Brexit. There is a lot of foreign money invested in the world's most popular sport's league called the EPL. That is why the highly talented players are attracted to participate in the EPL!!

Looking at the Canada team, it must be hard to be against immigration.

Very impressed with the work rate and energy with these Canadian players. But, the very experienced Croatian team somehow have brought some quality in their moves and distribution to come from behind and then go ahead. Very watchable and entertaining game even if Canada do not manage to get anything out of this match.

Hope they don’t knock over any liquor bottles when they play.
