And now even a loss to lowly South Africa! The shameful self-humiliation is complete, aside from the months of sulking, ranting, finger-pointing, melodrama, pouting and tantrums that will surely follow when the team slinks back to its home country.

They got what they deserved. However the French Football Federation should fall on the sword for this one. Why the hell was Domenech still in charge after the disgrace of Euro 2008? This team/Federation has not moved on from the 1998/2000 glory years. The team was too old, lacking in ideas and leadership. There are so many good young French players that should have been fully integrated into the team. Benzema, Nasri, Ben Arfa, Mexes, Frey etc. should have all been in this team. Gallas, Henry, Anelka, Abidal are all well past it. France, and Italy as well, should take a look at the balance between young and veteran players fielded by Germany (5 players that participated in Euro U21 last summer), Argentina (Aguero, Messi, Romero, Di Maria all 22 or under), and Chile, a lot of their players particiapted in World U20 in Canada a few years ago and I thought they were the best team, until Toronto cops and a bus got in their way. *insert smiley face*

Shut the fuck up!

Arrigo Sackme or Sacchi recently stated that the inclusion of Cassano and Balotelli would not have made any difference to Italy's chances in this tournament. Mr Sacchi should remember that had it not been for Roberto Baggio, italy would have left USA94 very early. I would have taken Balotelli, Miccoli and Lanzafame over some the strikers that were chosen.

Roberto Baggio on Arrigo Sacchi:

"Being coached by Sacchi is like a bus driver driving a Ferrari."

Miccoli is a great player but was injured towards the end of the season. Cassano stated he did not want to play, getting married or something this summer. Balotelli well he is balotelli, one of my favourite young players in world football right now.

French friends have told me that though Domenech is an idiot, his agent is not. He apparently has a ridiculously generous rescission clause in his contract that would make it really expensive to terminate the contract. Still, I have to believe that if the French Football authorities had any clue of how badly he would fuck up (though it was really not a surprise to any who've paid attention to the idiot in action), they'd have paid anything to be rid of him.

What's up with Ronaldo. I know he is a bit of a dancing diva, but I think his dribble show-offingness not only made him loose the ball a number of times against the C-List Koreans, he also looked a bit like a buffoon. Man oh man what a goof.
I think he was much bigger goof in the game against Ivory Coast...if that's what you mean by goof. Ronaldo played well against the Koreans, especially in the second half. The guy never has less than two players on top of him, which creates space for others. As a counter attacking player, the guy's without peer.

But yes....I do wish he'd use better judgment when it comes to the flicks. That's who he is though...you got take the bad with the good.

Ok, the USA and England both win by identical 1-0 scores. Who ends up top of the Group?

In this case, and any similar cases, it should be the team with the least amount of goals allowed. Why ?
I am more impressed by a team that can keep the ball out of a net the size of a bungalow then a team that can score goals on said net.

I believe Uruguay vs South Korea is the fourth game already decided.

The rumours of Denmarks premature death are not true. Wishful thinking, eh?

You just want to eliminate all danes.

Denmark should be able to win, but even the favourite nations have had problems, latest Italy.
