How about ex Leaf goalie Ben Scrivens, shuts out the Sharks and makes an incredible 59 saves in doing so.

Set some records doing it:

From the G & M: The 59-save shutout is an NHL record. The 59 shots tied the mark for the most ever given up by Edmonton and Scrivens’ 59 saves were a team record. Previously Edmonton gave up 59 shots to the New York Rangers in 1993, winning that game 4-3.

Ben Scrivens posts his 3rd should out of the season last night ... He is number 1 in LA for awhile till Quick gets back from injury ... Do you think a team in Alberta could have used this Alberta kid this year ? LA`s pick up of this guy shows why they are where they are and why the Oilers are where they are .
This was my post in November ... Oilers should have had the Leafs on speed dial last summer maybe could have salvaged this season ..

I believe the discussion was not about how good Scrivens is, but that somehow LA picking up Scrivens is an indicator of why they have had playoff success. Does Edmonton`s pick up of the guy show why they are where they are?

No your post had to do with how come Leaf fans praise their players once they leave ?

Why is it that this type of comment is only made once a player is playing for a team other than the Leafs? Were you complimenting the Leafs last year for having him on their roster?

Leafs win an easy one, despite the first period.
Closing in on Tampa, who lost to Ottawa. Leafs now three points back, but TB still have two games in hand.

D scored, Franson. Secondary scoring from Raymond, Kulemin and Lupul. One line scoring JVR and Bozak.
Kessel with two assists, some good work and a nice set up for Bozak.
Kulemin seems to be playing better, he has eight now.
Bernier was the reason the Leafs won.

Go Leafs !

Oilers acquire Fraser from Maple Leafs

Going to miss him. He was a warrior last year, and a huge impact in the playoffs. Was not the same after the injury though. Wish him the best in Edmonton.
They need the toughness, so imagine Dallas Eakins will give him lots of ice time. Not much relief off the cap, but every little bit helps. Especially with word of Bolland possibly being back before the Olympics now.

Going to the Leafs are a pair of forward prospects, Cameron Abney and the rights to Teemu Hartikainen.

It is strange how things workout in the end.
If Fraser played like he did before the injury maybe the Leafs do not make the Gleason deal.
You never know, I would like to have made the Gleason deal even if Fraser was still playing tough and get rid of Gunnassson.

Phaneuf . Gleason
Fraser . Franson
Gardiner . Rielly

I would really like to see Ranger find his NHL game again.

Agreed. With the addition of Gleason who is playing solid, Fraser was just going to sit anyway. This way he will see ice time in another conference while Toronto relieves a little more cap space before Bolland comes back, and someone is back to the Marlies. I'd like to see Edmonton give the Bruins a handful on Sat. After the pounding Montreal gave, most expect Boston to take it out on the Oilers.

Its a shame, because I really like watching Orr fight. But again have to agree with you, especially because Orr has such a high salary. I've wondered if he was hurt because he is not hitting, his passing has been terrible, and he seems slower then normal. I don't want to see Toronto part with all their toughness, and would like to see Frazer McLaren stay.

A promising replacement for Orr might be Troy Bodie. He seems to have much better skills, and drive each night. I'm hoping when Bolland returns, Bodie is one who remains with the Leafs.
see post#1148. we might support different teams, but think along the same lines!

TB wins in OT, Habs get a point, Flyers win despite only getting 13 shots on goal, Bruins win as well. Things tightening up in the playoff race.

Congratulations to the Leafs! Remember, be aware of acting too late. too crowded. too close to our own net on defense......

Congratulations to the Leafs they were the better team tonight.

I wonder if Karlsson isn't healthy because he was a non factor in the game. That's something we Sens fans rarely see.

Kessel is just on fire right now. He and Bozak have some awesome chemistry.
