Mike Komisarek:p When he comes bk from injury ....
Mike Komisarek has a no-movement/modified no-trade clause in his contract, try again, Chuck.

Maybe he would want to move to St Louis. They have like the best D in the league, and doing pretty well in the standings.
Maybe......? That's the best you have as a reason for him waiving a key clause in his contract?

Maybe I'll win the lottery tomorrow.

St. Louis has a good team right now. We could trade them MacArthur or Kulemin in a deal, perhaps one of our prospects down there.

The Maple Leafs have a good team right now, 2 points fewer than the Blues.
Kulemin's stock is low right now, would not carry much trade value.
MacArthur has struggled this season as well, not attractive to a trading partner.
Again, why would St. Louis make this trade?

Burke & his management team have spent the past 3 years rebuilding the farm system, and you want to give up pieces for a goaltender not measurably better than what the Leafs have now?

Why is the Leafs penalty killing that bad?

Seems to me that they can't stop the point shot, the previous Washington game. They can't stop the down low across the crease pass, tonight against Riemer, and I actually complained about this in this thread earlier when Gusvatsson was in goal. Don't they have a goalie coach? Do they know what a poke check is?

Last two games, all goals surrendered while Leafs short handed.

At least the Leafs won this time.

Carolina is the worst team in the league. Watching this game, I don't think is there is a worst team in the league.

The Leafs would be better off if they got just four guys to just stand there in a box formation. Just by doing that, the penalty kill would improve. Right now, they're always out of position. One pass, and the box is totally gone, Leafs defenders chasing all over the ice.

Whew !
A win is a win.

Sometimes I wonder if I took it more serious where I would have been during my 20s and early 30s.

LATE IN THE GAME, to avoid the stupid, simple penalty ...
- DO NOT TRY THE STICK LIFT.
- DO NOT HAVE YOUR STICK ANYWHERE NEAR AN OPPONENTS BODY
.

I did not like giving up that point to Carolina, but they are so far behind it is OK I guess. That could come back to hurt the Leafs if it was New Jersey, Buffalo or Montreal, etc.
I knew after no goals for two and three quarters of the third as soon as the Carolina player went down, especially just after the Leafs just scored, that the Hurricanes were going to score.

Let's trade for Halak while his value is low. I'm still not sold on Reimer.
Ditto.. I think Reimer will convince me a when he plays a couple of seasons more but healthy and approximately 60 games. I trade for Halak or Miller will secure them a playoff spot.
Miller has a no-trade clause in his contract. He's not coming to Toronto.

Why would St Louis be interested in trading Halak?
Have you not seen how dominant Brian Elliot has become? He has only given up more than 2 goals once this year, and leads the league in shutouts, GAA, and sv%. He's the same age as Halak too. I don't see why the Blues would want to play halak at this point. Elliot has show no signs of weakness all year long.
I am not interested in any of the goalies suggested above. If I have lost confidence in Reimer, which I have not, I would go after Cory Schneider of the Canucks. I think for the right offer the Canucks will move him.

Costanza, a 'no trade clause' just means you need the player's consent to trade him, so he can control where he goes. It is not impassable roadblock to a trade.

Like I said, I am not sold in on Reimer. Our PK is one of the worse in the league, or maybe the worst. Don't want to put it all on Reimer, but our goalie needs to be the best PK out there. I'm not saying it will happen, but I do want Burky to at least go out there an try to fetch for a goalie in a trade. He did the same when he acquire Giguere. And guess wut we gave up in the deal? A struggling Jason Blake. Halak value is also low at this point.

Burke has stated repeatedly that he will not ask a player to waive his no-trade clause.
Have you heard even one peep that Komisarek (or others with no-trade clauses) have asked to be moved?

The right offer, sure.

Start with a 1st round draft pick, add Luke Schenn or Jake Gardiner, and a key prospect, and you may interest Vancouver.

Elliot continues to dominate against a tough rangers team only giving up 1 goal. Not sure how halak is even going to get his job bk this year.

Game day. Buffalo, NY.

If there was a time to beat the Sabres, it is now. Miller not going well, but the team is doing OK.
To me, this is a team that the Leafs must start beating. I do not think they are that good a team.
Kessel still has a share of the lead in goals and is three out of the overall scoring lead.
Like what I see from Franson, and Schenn is playing better.
Reimer has been named the starter ... we shall see.

First things first.
The Phaneuf hit. Five minute worthy, yes OK. Suspension ? The way things are going in the NHL I do not see a suspension, but who knows. Personally I would have given him four games.

How long does this go on ? The PK sucks large and the PP is ineffective. I can live with the poor PP, but only if I know that we will kill most penalties. Leafs take a penalty, it is almost an automatic goal.

PK is a joke. rumor has it Wilson will be offered an extension before the New year. That PK has cost them a bunch of wins, and the PK being one of the things you think a coach should be able to teach, why would they want to extend his contract? The PP is dropping off too. Unless they make the playoffs by a comfortable margin, he has had his opportunity!

Watching the Leafs is like watching a man in quicksand. Hope Bell/Rogers have a "performance clause" in their purchase agreement with Teachers.

If you cannot beat the Canucks at least make sure the Sedin Sisters knew they were in a contact sport.

My hope, this weekend was for a win against the Sabres and then just hope for the best against the Riot City Canucks.
If the Leafs could have killed two of theose Friday night penalties then I would be happy today, well 'less pissed off' at least.
