I think this just reinforces that police need better training/rules of engagement
WTF was that guy doing? was he stoned or drunk? I do think a lot of cops have been raised with video games and this partly accounts for their trigger happy nature. The nature of first person shooter games is to induce one to pull the trigger whenever one encounters a stressful situation. I think they need to test out this theory using simulators and reverse train the cops.I think this just reinforces that police need better training/rules of engagement
The police have IMHO turned their backs on the community by focusing on their own interests and protecting their own above the needs of the community. This is why there is such a crisis of confidence in police. The secrecy, impunity and lack of oversight has brought us here. How to mend it is the question we are just starting to struggle with. Police saw the community as "us and them" well before public caught up to the same perception. It's clearly confrontation. They extorted a promise from PRIDE to prevent future inclusion of the police. It sends the message to blacks that the police should not be included in the community. It encourages blacks to see the police as an enemy.
That confrontational, can anti police attitude is why black on black crimes go unsolved: nobody cooperates with the police who are as much as possible excluded from the crime plagued black community.

Thank you Frankcastle. Your point on BLM is well taken. You and I are probably closer than we realize.
.
I don't know what Mr. Noble was trying to prove but he's extremely stupid.I think this just reinforces that police need better training/rules of engagement
I felt the shots while on the ground was excessive.I don't know what Mr. Noble was trying to prove but he's extremely stupid.
The Yatim shooting is an excellent video that demonstrates that police need more training, but this one is not that illustrative of your point.
Mr. Noble never complied and taunted cops by continuing to reach for something in his pocket after he was shot and down. Perhaps they could've used a taser to stun him when he first fell down or maybe they could've rushed him while another cop had him in his sights from the side just in case.
Edit: In another thread, they indicated that he said something to suggest he was suicidal (or he might have been high or drunk). Perhaps the cops could've delayed the process. After all, they had time and distance with many guns pointing at him.
Totally agree. Fuji reduces these people to skin colour. Canada man is out for muslims and feminists. To me race, gender, religion are just three criteria in a longer list of criteria in risk assessment.Thank you Frankcastle. Your point on BLM is well taken.
I have no doubt about that you and are closer than we realize, and that is part of the point. Once you stop focusing on the color of people's skin, or religion, you realize that we have many of us have more in common
with each other than we realize.
BTW, I have faced an incredible amount of racism in my life and I don't tolerate discrimination of any race, culture, religion, or sexual preference.
Not watching a video that doesn't know when to use worse vs worst.
I don't reduce anybody to skin color. It's not skin color that causes the crime wave in the black community. It's a cultural problem.Totally agree. Fuji reduces these people to skin colour. Don't think too many police have been shot by women. On the other hand, I think that most cops are shot by males. Please don't accuse me of gender profiling. To me race, gender, religion are just three criteria in a longer list of criteria in risk assessment.
No it makes it clear that they DO NOT TRUST the police and the police need to get their SHIT together before they can rejoin the community. It highlights the fact that there is a HUGE trust issue with the police and by doing this they IMHO did a service to ALL Canadians regardless of color who have been on the receiving end of police abuse. For that I thank them. It's clearly confrontation. They extorted a promise from PRIDE to prevent future inclusion of the police. It sends the message to blacks that the police should not be included in the community. It encourages blacks to see the police as an enemy.

Probably true Frank, but he was still not listening to them. Are the cops so afraid to approach and step on his hands? I mean, if the guy is already wounded and pulls out a gun, they can then shoot him again at that point.I felt the shots while on the ground was excessive.
Sorry. BLM broke the law when they extorted the PRIDE leader to sign their document and hijacked the parade which I don't approve of. I can support their peaceful protests against certain incidents but not to generalize or lump all police in the same category. No it makes it clear that they DO NOT TRUST the police and the police need to get their SHIT together before they can rejoin the community. It is a societal issue not a cultural issue. It is the result of many factors.I don't reduce anybody to skin color. It's not skin color that causes the crime wave in the black community. It's a cultural problem.
You are in denial about it, which is unhelpful if you wanted to do something about it.
Back up take cover. Have someone approach from behind.Probably true Frank, but he was still not listening to them. Are the cops so afraid to approach and step on his hands? I mean, if the guy is already wounded and pulls out a gun, they can then shoot him again at that point.
