I have to go with Occasionally on this one. I don't always agree with Fuji, but he nailed it, and glad he said it. I like AK-47 and get why he wouldn't agree. But I think he is seeing the black culture through his eyes, not theirs
Kath, I'll be the first one to admit there's a serious crime issue in the black community. I believe in Chicago blacks commit 10X more murders than white people (or something like that). Stats dont lie, I get that.

My problem is when people start blaming the entire black community for the actions of some of them. And on top of that fuji wants police spot-checks for black kids who wear baggy pants. Thats an idea thats beyond ridiculous, but we're talking fuji so perhaps I shouldnt be surprised. While we're at it lets have spot-checks for girls who dress slutty, maybe that will decrease rape stats.

On the other side of the coin, this BLM movement isnt helping the situation at all. They are anti police and I'm convinced they have aided a hateful culture towards police that have spurred the ambush and murder of 8 cops over the last 2 weeks

AK-47 very reasonable.. from a guy named AK47. :)

Some insist that there is a cultural issue behind the issues in the black community. While there may be some cultural bias, unfortunately, many of those people then make the connection that 100% of the blame falls on black culture, hence black people are the problem.
It is not a black culture issue. It is a criminal culture issue. The criminals/anarchists and ne'er-do-wells of the world have hijacked these issues. These criminals are hispanic, white, black, asians, East Indians, etc.. We have them in
every race/religion/culture. The problem is that somehow they have hijacked the black community and are making people believe that they represent "the black community". They do not.

It is the same issue with Muslims.. The terrorists have hijacked (no pun intended) their religion.

You are an intelligent man, I am sure you will be able to figure it out if you are intellectually honest.
I would try to explain it to you, but no matter what I say, you would twist it into racism anyways, so why bother.

At some point, when you are ready to put in the hard work , and want to really make a difference, we can discuss.
Ahh so you blaming the high crime rate among blacks, but you are afraid to say it because you don't wanna come out as being a racist. Talk about dishonesty!!! Its not just racism. Police have a culture of entitlement and impunity. Sometimes and more so in the US this is coupled with racism which magnifies the problem. In the US the black community in several states is taking a disproportionate amount of this. I am sorry, the high crime rate among blacks is just not a reasonable excuse for the trigger happy police.

Jesus, this has got to stop. The protests are not helping tensions at all.
As they're being run, no they aren't. It is an issue that does need to be addressed but I think instead of taking an oppositional and defiant tact they should present as being open to working with the police to address the problems. Even beyond giving an excuse for wackos to commit violence, a movement based on accusations will only make the sides more divided and less likely to listen to each other.

Nope not refering to the high crime rate among the black community. Keep trying. But intersting to note that you feel that bring up the high crime rate among blacks is racist.

To clarify, most people do not condone police using excessive force of any kind regardless of the color of the victim.

Exactly. In the meantime the criminals continue to operate, and people like BLM will continue to lead the sheeple

I don't think mentioning this is racist at all, its a FACT. But it has been proven that civil rights within this community are also being violated disproportionately and there have been too many cases for which there is simply no justification.

There is no acknowledgement by the police that there is even a problem. You think the BLM is the first attempt to address the problem?

We don't disagree on the fact that inherent racism exists in our society, and that police use tactics that might be less than acceptable. What you dont' want to accept is that sometimes police have to use force. It is naive to think that police can use diplomacy to solve every
situation. Even in Toronto, life on the streets is nasty. You and others think that all the police have to do is show up and start singing kumbaya my lord, the thugs will join in and they will all live happily every after.

You complain about the police violating rights, but in most of these encounters that are on video, there is ample evidence that the police rights are being violated. The excuses and bs that surrounds you and others defending the guys who resist arrest make the situation even worse.
Now every time a cop stops a black person, the cop has no rights. How the hell can police do their jobs. What I find frightening is that guys like you don't seem to realize that most of this is not about ordinary law abiding citizens, its about criminals, thugs and hoodlums (white, black, asians, indians, etc..). You fools keep rallying the troops, but you dont' seem to realize that you are fighting for the very people who would take away that comfortable life you live.

Our system and our police need to do better, but that is not what BLM and their supporters are about. BLM and others are mostly anarchists, who believe that society is bad, and they have a better way of doing things.
Stalin, Hitler and others also believed they had a better way of doing things. I put my support in the people who have built Canada and the US to the countries they are today. I think they have a better chance to fix things than
people like BLM..
