That's been going on for a while. Meanwhile, the old man went shopping today for food and the shelves were full. You guys must not be seeing what's happening at all the ports and ship back ups.
Assuming you can keep the bugs out.Grain will last 30 years if not forever. Beans and peas will last about 8. Most canned goods will last about 2 it seems.

Freeze dried or dehydrated is good. Packed I'm sand in cold storage works. Preserved in jars. How would you store vegetables?
I just watch what's going on. Mechanics can't get parts for the trucks that haul or stuff. Things ain't good right now. I feel it's gonna get worse. So I made myself ready if it does. I'll be happy if I'm wrong and ready if I'm not. That's been going on for a while. Meanwhile, the old man went shopping today for food and the shelves were full.
There is an issue with computer chips but those purchases can be delayed, and some concern for things like Christmas shopping being delayed but going from what is happening with the ports to full on TEOTWAWKI is a bit either special needs or just taking the piss and trying to get a rise out of people.
I enjoy following prepper stuff but they use every little excuse to go "see it's coming" and they so far have been wrong every time. I used to collect gold bug books about the upcoming Great Depression some published in the 70s at used book stores. Actually pretty well thought out books more so than, a few ships outside of ports. All of them wrong. Except for Harry Browne who learned from his experiences and went to a Permanent Portfolio idea because he admits he can't tell the future, the rest kept at it. I suppose if they live long enough they are bound to be right some time but still.
But hey if you want to go 2 weeks, or even full Mormon and store a rotated 1 year supply of food, wouldn't hurt much, but current events isn't a good excuse doing so.
Just finished the pal and rpal course 3 weeks ago. Waiting on paperwork now.I grow most of my food and have beans and canned goods for a year.
More importantly, I have enough arms and ammunition to fend of the marauding masses if need be.
As long as you feed them, give them water, turn them over so they don't get bed sores and give them some TV to watch, they will be fine. How would you store vegetables?
I doubt your typical doomsday prepper would be at a rally of any sort. Also considering how paranoid they are about everything instead of calling Covid just the flu brah, I could see many of them fappiing like mad in their bunkers while chanting I was right everyone will die but me.I always have to laugh at these doomsday preppers.
The last 18 months is exactly what they've been preparing for, for years but they're the types who are out protesting the lockdown measures.
A true extinction level event, you won't survive. Sure I suppose if you can store a life time supply of propane and propane accessories and butt tons of food plus a method to grow more and live underground with heat and electricity you can do it, but that sort of set up is a bit much to afford for most people. Also you need people you can trust and get alone with to not go insane and set up a defendable spot at least for the short run. Also depending on the nature of the event, if you are not at your bug out zone when it happens youI could deal with outages/disaster scenarios but an actual extinction level event? I’m not sure I’d want to survive the initial wipeout, everything would suck really bad for years and years with no hope of getting better within your lifetime.
Point is, I don’t think I would want to survive. Post-apocalyptic world? Yeah, count me out.Speaking of which, has anyone seen the Korean movie "The Basement" they make some... a lot of errors [not just the characters] but it was rather interesting.

Most hilarious are those who claim to be looking forward to everything going tits up. As if that would make anything better for anyone.
That and people like Type 1 diabetics who prep for the end of the world... How do I deal with insulin. You don't, your life is pretty much dependent on the modern world functioning. [Assuming Insulin can't be stored indefinitely, I haven't looked it up.]

could be very fucked.
Short term disruptions are pretty easy to do, hell if you have some water you could just suck it up on the misery train for a while.
The mass distruction but non extention events, you just need to be able to make it a year or so. Say there is a mild nuke, enough for everything to go ape shit but not enough to kill everyone. If you get out of your bunker fully fed and avoiding radiation, if there is any sort of civilication around, you got the step ahead of everyone else so if it isn't a total extinction event you are bound to be one of the ones to make it... unless you make it into a manwich sandwich.
Yeah, I’m not going out of my way to survive unless there’s light at end of the tunnel. At least I won’t have to suffer through another crappy Leafs seasonPoint is, I don’t think I would want to survive. Post-apocalyptic world? Yeah, count me out.
