This is the same strawman argument we've been hearing for two years. Covid virus is too small for surgical/cloth masks, it is airborne, it passes right through the rag you have on your face . The last two weeks should have driven the point home, yet too many are still living in denial.

It's funny because several times in this thread you've admitted that viruses don;'t travel on their own then go back to pretending that there are free virions flying through the air.

And yes, virus particles are much larger than molecules. Molecules are about 1/100th the size of most viruses.

There's no such thing as "properly masked" outside of the fitted n95. Not against a virus with the average size of .125 microns. The properly fitted n95 is barely/partially effective against the airborne covid and very effective against the fully symptomatic emissions. The cloth masks are virtue signaling against the presymptomatic and post symptomatic airborne emissions. Hence, we are witnessing, this very moment, the dramatic increase in infections among the 100% masked population in Canada. If the spread was mostly limited to households, we simply would not be seeing the latest spike in cases. The infection rates would have stayed more or less constant.

It's truly sad to see how so many people argue and hate each other over bullcrap like masks/social distancing vs. a 99.98% survival rate virus (regular influenza = 99.9%).

Real issues: Whether Canada will follow Austria/France and threaten imprisoning and inoculating their citizens against our wills if we choose not to take experimental shots (where are the "My body my choice" abortionists now?); Whether we should peacefully surrender to being taken to camps against our will as in Australia; Whether we support segregation/the establishment of second-class citizens who have fewer rights (like blacks in the early US)or no rights at all and are seen as inhuman/valueless and a threat (like WW2 Nazi genocide).

So the world government has divided us into small, weak groups/individuals fighting each other while the 1% takes away our meager semblances of freedom - and party maskless with the lower class in lockdown! Why argue over masks?

Of course he was right. You suppose to wear your mask loosely over your face- you get extra points if you have a beard.

They do, otherwise every healthcare worker who look after covid patients would get infected, and in fact, infection from patient to healthcare worker is rare. Even in the absence of n95s.
Non fit tested Kn95 are pretty good. Just make sure the seal on your face is good, with no air leaks.
Even surgical masks will reduce spread in the immediate environment. The are good at droplet filtration and will filter some aerosols. (Tho not 95%). Cloth masks too, just less so.

After going through Covid and seeing my family and friends do the same. I actually question why we are taking any precautions at all that we dont usually do during winter months.

Glad that you and your loved ones had a good outcome with COVID. Unfortunately not everyone is the same, and there is a societal interest in slowing transmission to keep essential work going, and keeping hospitals running. It’s not just a personal risk issue.
