Silva by knockout. Something spectacular like a flying knee to the face.

Silva by what he usually does...I didn't see any spectacular thing that Weidman did that is worthy of even people talking he can win this. Just UFC trying to hype up and drum more $$$.

i like Weideman...very underated, and has similar if not better skills than Chael Sonnen, who took Silva pretty far into the fight but could not beat him....but the spider is THE SPIDER...close but Anderson takes it..

Silva by TKO or some crazy arm bar from the bottom in round three. Should be a very competitive fight.

Everybody has a plan until the cage locks and they're face to face with Anderson. Then reality sets in.
By far the best and most accurate striker in the UFC, devastating leg kicks that could end the fight alone. Superior timing and technique with his punches must make them feel like ur being hit with a bat.

I have not yet voted and, like the Chair of the Board, will wait and be the 'tie-breaker' if required.

so far 9/2 for Silva.

Silva has done very well in the UFC and is probably now the GOAT but before he hit the UFC he wasn't all that and a bag of chips. That being said, Wiedman is good, however he is being hyped beyond what his abilities dictate. Any comparisons to the first Chael fight don't work as, if you believe Silva (and the 2nd fight supports this) he had a badly injured rib and should not have fought. Silva all the way. No super fights. He will fight Roy Jones Jr. next (as lame as that might be).

“All the pros, when you talk to all the fighters -- every fighter out there that I’ve talked to, that we’ve interviewed, thinks Weidman is going to beat him. Georges St-Pierre thinks he’s going to win so much that he didn’t even want to plan to fight Anderson.”
--Dana White

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/mma/news/20130702/ufc-162-preview-anderson-silva-chris-weidman/

Following the quote from Dana White, there is a series of quotes from the likes of GSP, Kenny Florian, Chael Sonnen, Matt Serra, Frank Mir, and Frankie Edgar. They all predict Weidman over Silva. Most claim Weidman is the perfect match for Silva, with his excellent wrestling and above average jui jitsu and striking.

Then there are media predictions.

http://www.mmamania.com/2013/7/6/44...s-ufc-162-anderson-silva-vs-chris-weidman-mma

They all predict Weidman is no match for the Spider. Weidman underwent surgery and has not fought in a year. He lacks big fight experience and has only defeated marginal top 10 fighters.

I predict Silva in the second round.

Weidman is just another typical boring mediocre orthodox fighter with so many holes in his game that he'll be fortunate to make it out of the first round, despite what Dana's hype machine says. He poses much less threat to Silva than did Sonnen. He's a horrible match-up for Silva and sadly for him he's going to get owned at every mistake he makes.

I'm leaning towards Wiedman

He's aggressive, mentally strong and a strong wrestler. This makes him a good stylistic match up for Silva.
Wasn't that what they said about Hendo vs Silva = choke out

Don't really care anymore. His weird, erratic, diva-ish behaviour doesn't make me want to see him fight.

Holy shit!!!!
That's for sure. Weidman KOs Silva at the beginning of the second round.

Silva graciously congratulates Weidman and categorically states that Weidman is now the best in the world. He says he won't fight for the belt anymore, but stops short of saying he will retire. I think he hasn't quite figured out what he will do, except that he is tired right now.

Interesting. Looks kinda like Anderson lost on purpose. His loser speech seemed rehearsed and the fact that he doesn't want a rematch also points to him dumping the fight. Maybe he lost interest in fighting since he did rule for so long and made madd bank. Must be hard to keep the desire going to stay at the top year after year.
